WHO: Harry, Draco, Celeste, Violetta
WHAT: SHopping in france! Draco sacrificing fashion for Harry.
WHEN: December 2
WHERE: Some French Wizarding Shoeshop and Malfoy Manor
It had already been two hours, and Celeste seemed to be just getting started in her quest to dress Harry as fabulously as possible. Draco had Violetta on his back, while Celeste had their six month old Lyra on her hip. "Oh this shop is divine! Harry come along darling - you'll just love the selection of shoes here!"
Draco sighed and gave Harry an almost apologetic smile as he motioned they ought to follow his overexcited wife.
Harry whimpered sadly reaching for Draco's hand, "How much longer?"
"She'll want to stop at a cafe before too long, I'm sure," Draco promised. "Once she does, I'm sure we can convince Vi or Lyra to get fussy enough to convince her it's time to go back to Wiltshire."
"My feet hurt," she grumbled, "I could've just worn trainers."
"With denims, maybe - but not with that dress," Draco commiserated.
She frowned softly following, I'm sure I have more than enough shoes."
"I know," Draco chuckled, holding the door for her, while Vi leaned over and tugged on Harry's arm. "Da!"
Harry turned and looked at her, "Hmmm?" She asked
"Talkiff you - pretty Da".
"Talkiff?" She asked with a smile.
"I talkiff you!"
Ah alright," She replied with a smile kissing the tip of her nose.
Draco yelped as Vi tried to launch herself at Harry, barely catching the toddler before she fell.
She laughed softly moving to take her from Draco's back holding her onto her hip.
"Mapa have a big fall," Vi giggled at Harry, watching Draco pinwheel a bit to catch his balance.
"Mapa is silly," she teased holding Violetta close.
"I am not," Draco grumbled, brightening as Celeste handed him Lyra and then Pulled harry further into the store to sit her down so she could try the mountain of shoes Celeste had selected
She sighed setting VIoletta onto her lap, before sighing and changing her shoes, "How many do ywe have to try?"
"Just until we find the right ones - then we'll get a few for each of your outfits," Celeste chirped, before directing the saleswizard in french too fast for a non-native to follow.
"BUt i have so many dresses now," she replied with a frown.
"So you need many shoes," Celeste replied.
"Do I really need so many?"
"Of course!"
She sighed softly giving in.
"Alright," she murmured looking at Draco helplessly
Draco decided that drastic measures were necessary. He started bouncing Lyra bit jostley. It didn't hurt her, she in fact started squealing and giggling.
Harry smiled a little, watching her before looking over at Violetta amused and then up over at Celeste.
I can't believe I'm doing this.... Draco thought to himself as he kept bouncing the giggling infant... to the point that the giggles turned to hiccups, turned to her spitting up all over him.
"Oh, Darling! You know better than to... Oh and you cannot just charm that jacket clean, it will ruin it!" Celeste pouted, looking at the pile of things she wanted to get for Harry, and Draco's ruined jacket. She sighed. "I suppose we ought to simply buy these that you have already tried on, and we'll have to postpone the rest of the trip until later."
Harry winced a little knowing how much it cost Draco to have the baby throw up on him. "Okay," She replied walking to the counter.
Draco sighed, pulling out his handkerchief and dabbing at the spitup, waiting for them to finish so they could take the international portkey back home. Violet ran up to him as Celeste paid, grabbing onto his pantleg with a deathgrip.
Harry looked over taking the bags and walking back to Draco, "Are you alright?"
"You owe me," he pouted under his breath, giving Harry a pained smile. "Alright, back to the portkey office," he said in a more normal tone, taking the bags from Harry and Celeste.
She smliled a little, "Thank you." she whispered
"You're welcome, now you take care of Vi, and we'll all get back home," Draco said, leading the way out of the shop.
Harry nodded leaning down and picking up Violetta with a smile kissing her cheek and playing with her as they walked out.
Celeste clucked a bit, bemoaning they didn't even make it to the other half of the street, but perked up once they'd all gotten home. "Oh Harry, you really ought to change for supper," she suggested. "One of the gowns would look lovely."
"Change for dinner?" She asked softly looking over at Draco
"It's traditional," Draco replied with a sigh. "To dress for dinner."
Alright," she replied with a sigh before taking the bags and carrying them upstairs looking a little lost as she disappeared into her room.
