Who: Angel
ihaveasoul and Spike
ihaveasoultooWhen: Today
Where: Their new flat.
What: Spike getting a rejection letter and Angel cheering him up.
Why: For the fluff!
Angel put the finishing pieces to his new office, happy with his unicorn-free desk, leaving one across the room bare for Harmony to do with as she would. As long as the unicorns didn't migrate over, he was fine.
Spike walked into the office flipping though his pound notes a cigarette hanging from his lips as he looked about.
Angel arched a brow. "Been busy, have we?" he asked, nodding at the money.
He nodded, "Surprisingly well, I swear that ball was a great investment." he murmured.
"You've been selling that again?" Angel laughed. "People love that thing."
He shrugged, "Yeah people are weird." He chuckled
"Well, weird people give us a good income, don't mock it," chuckled Angel.
He chuckled sitting on his desk." Hmmm." he replied slipping the money into his pocket. "Me a good income you mean," he replied with a smile.
"Hey, we're supposed to share, we're married," Angel chuckled. "And yes, it's a solid desk, before you ask."
He grinned, "Do I have to share mine?" he asked
"Yes, William, you do," said Angel leaning on the wall, watching him. "Because I share mine."
He looked at him with a smile, "I ...pay you with kisses." he teased
Angel laughed, shaking his head. "Kisses don't pay the rent."
He grinned watching him his eyes sparkling amused. "Nooo but the rent is my present." he chuckled
"Your present?" he asked, amused, moving to lean on the desk beside him.
He smiled turning his head watching him, "This flat is my present isn't it?"
"I thought my present was the watch and the poem," said Angel with a soft chuckle.
"Alright," he replied with a smile "but you surprised me with this."
Angel smiled. "You really want to give money for rent? Out of your own free will?"
"Nooo I want to not give you money for rent." he chuckled
Angel blinked. "....So...you're not giving me money?"
"Would I give you money?"
"...No." decided Angel.
He smiled, "Did you expect me to?" he asked amused.
"Maybe a little?" tried Angel hopefully.
He looked at him with a raised brow.
"...Okay, no, no I didn't," said Angel
He smiled leaning over and kissing him, "You'll have to make do with these.
Angel smiled into it, returning the kiss gently. "I can cope with them, I think."
He smiled before sighing pulling out the cash and slipping five fifties into his pocket mid kiss
Angel chuckled as he kissed him. "You're a hell of a confusing guy sometimes, Love."
He grinned, "Nah just keep you on your toes
"You do that very well, yeah," Angel chuckled, nuzzling him softly.
"You like it."
"Always," Angel kissed him slowly. "I can never get bored with you."
He smiled pleased ducking his head, "Mmmm that so?"
"It's impossible," smiled Angel. "Never know what you'll do next."
He smiled pleased ducking his head, "Mmmm that so?"
"Of course," he smiled fondly.
He chuckled kissing his temple "Soft prat."
"You know I am," he replied with a smile, nuzzling him.
"No that's Pratt." he murmured emphasising the t's.
"Ahh of course," Angel laughed, kissing him slowly. "Can't get mixed up now, can I?"
"Course not," he smiled wrapping his arms around him. "So is blondie working in here?"
"Yes," Angel rolled his eyes. "On the other end of the room. I'm not having any unicorns on this desk."
He chuckled, "Good luck with that mate," he murmured into his ear.
Angel smiled. "I can but hope and try."
He laughed, "You'll have a unicorn on here in a week."
"Then it can go back across the office," said Angel with a firm nod.
He chuckled softly, "I've lived with her, see how easy you find it"
Angel grimaced. "I don't like them."
Neither do I," he chuckled, Try sitting on one"
Angel laughed, arching a brow. "You sat on one?"
He frowned, "Wasn’t funny, poked me right in the arse
Angel chuckled, shaking his head. "How do you sit on a unicorn?"
"If someone leaves it on your chair, easily."
Angel laughed. "You didn't look first?"
"Why would I look?"
"In case there was a unicorn there," smirked Angel.
He rolled his eyes, "Well I didn't did I?”
"You're problem," smirked Angel.
He scowled, "That ain't fair."
Angel arched a brow, before smiling, leaning in to press a kiss to his forehead. "Poor Spike."
He pouted softly leaning into him
Angel smiled, returning it. "Abused by a unicorn."
He nodded, "I should get compensation."
"Such as?" he smirked.
He shrugged, "Regular sex."
"As opposed to irregular sex?" Angel teased.
He nodded, "mmmm and you have to protect my arse from now on, its a national treasure
"Do you want it framed?" smirked the elder vampire.
He grinned, "Maybe one day."
"Can't do much with it, then," chuckled Angel.
He shrugged, "You can protect me from unicorns"
"You want me to protect you from the nasty, evil unicorns?" Angel laughed.
Spike nodded, "From poking me in the arse."
"I think I can cope with that," Angel chuckled, nuzzling him.
He chuckled arching his neck, "Mmm and making me warm blood."
"I do that all the time anyway," laughed Angel.
He chuckled, "Should be easy for you pet," he murmured kissing him before looking at the desk, "mmmm did I get any post?"
Angel chuckled, returning the kiss, before handing him a letter. "Yep."
"He smiled looking at it thoughtfully before climbing into his lap.
Angel chuckled. "Get yourself comfy, why don't you."
HE grinned, "I like your lap."
"I have noticed," Angel smiled.
Spike smiled opening it thoughtfully before reading it.
Angel kissed his jaw gently. "Good news?"
He frowned softly and shook his head with a sigh, "No, having trouble finding a literary agent."
Angel blinked softly. "...They said no?"
"They did, just gotta hear from a few more." he murmured with a frown his good mood dissipating.
Angel frowned, nuzzling him softly. "You'll get someone, love," he whispered.
"Maybe," he murmured unconvinced
"You will, you're a terrific writer," said Angel firmly.
He frowned throwing the letter in the rubbish
"Will," Angel pulled him close, cuddling him gently. "You ARE a good writer."
He frowned, "Well one step at a time hey?"
"Yeah, and you'll get a place, you'll see," he whispered, nuzzling him lovingly.
He nodded, "Hope so."
"You will," said Angel firmly.
He shrugged kicking the desk before climbing off him with a frown.
Angel watched him quietly, frowning. "Love...you will."
"Love you too." he whispered shoving his hands into his pockets walking out of the room.
Angel frowned, following him. "That's not what I said and you know it."
He shrugged, "It doesn't matter." he replied
"Spike," Angel caught his arm. "Don't let this put you down. You're stronger than this."
He sighed letting himself come to a stop. "Look we'll just wait see what the other agents say alright"
"Exactly," said Angel. "Just because one said no doesn't mean they all will." He offered him a smile. "Would it make you feel better if I took his head off?"
He looked at him with a raised brow.
"Because I can, you know," smiled Angel.
"You won't want to."
Angel sighed, pulling him in. "I was kidding, trying to make you smile."
The corners of his lips tilted up , "Hmmmm, suppose it did a bit." he allowed
Angel smiled a little, kissing the top of his head. "Violence usually does make you smile."
"Well its a fun pastime."
"Hmmm, I imagine so," Angel chuckled, cuddling him.
He nodded before sighing and leaning in.
Angel wrapped his strong arms around his husband's lighter frame, holding him gently, swaying a little. "You always did like it."
He let his feet move reluctantly, "Maybe this was a daft idea."
"I won't hear it," said Angel, dancing with him slowly. "You're a fantastic poet, and one of these people are going to see that, and snap you up."
He smiled, "Yeah." He murmured
Angel put his hand under Spike's chin, raising his face. "You are," he whispered. "I wish you'd let yourself believe that."
He sighed watching him, I do okay just...leave it for a bit."
"Okay, Love," Angel murmured softly, swaying him a little.
He frowned, "I want some blood."
"Okay, I'll make you some," he whispered, kissing him fondly.
He smiled, "Thanks Pet" he whispered
Angel offered him a small smile, wandering into the kitchen, starting to warm up two mugs of blood.
Spike followed him his hands shoved back into his pockets as he sighed and leaned against the wall. "
Angel hummed tunelessly as he made up the warm mug, before sprinkling some weetabix in one, handing it to Spike. "Here you go, Love."
He nodded, "Thanks," he murmured sipping in the silence before speaking again. "You made up your flyers and cards yet?"
"Yeah, got them all ready, even remembered the telephone number this time," Angel chuckled, sipping his own blood.
"It still look like a rat?"
"It doesn't look like a rat!" protested Angel. "Or a lobster. Or an oven mitt. It's an angel."
"Right..."
"It's an angel!" sulked the vampire.
He smiled into his cup, "If you say so."
"I do!", Angel laughed. "Why does everyone think it's something else?"
"Because whatever it looks like it ain't an angel."
"It's got wings!"
"That's a flap or an ear..."
Angel laughed, tossing a tea-towel at him. "It's a wing!"
"Funny looking wing." He replied catching the towel.
"Shut up," Angel laughed. "Cordy was very proud of it."
He smiled, "Yeah well the girl couldn't draw."
"Well....no," Angel allowed. "But I keep the angel anyway."
He smiled, "Told you, you were a soft prat." he whispered finishing his drink
Angel smiled, sipping at his own blood. "Well...yeah, ok."
"You're lucky I like it."
"Do you, now?" he chuckled
"A little"
"A little," he smiled, kissing his forehead.
He smiled ducking his head as he pulled him along.
Angel laughed, letting himself be pulled. "Where are we going?"
"I dunno, roof if you want"
"Alright," Angel chuckled. "Roof sounds nice."
He smiled pulling him close as he walked along before the doorbell rang.
Angel arched a brow. "....Were we expecting anyone?"
He looked at him with a frown before grinning, "The dogs!"
Angel beamed. "Well, hey, it's about time!"
He grinned tearing down to the door
Angel chuckled following after him, rolling his eyes affectionately.
The door opened to a cacophony of barking in large wooden crates with wild animal plastered all over them. The traumatised handlers gave them the keys before running far away.
Angel grinned, watching them race off. "Told you Lorne would never walk them," he said, pulling one of the huge crates in, opening it and pulling out Chompers in all his yorkie-sized glory. "Hey boooy!"
Spike laughed opening his giant one as the hell hound trotted out and pounced on him.
Angel chuckled, opening the other crate to let Slugger out, the Chihuahua bouncing about barking happily. "Think they went a bit excessive with the crates?" he asked, pulling Mr. Boots out of his.
He shrugged, "Maybe they were scared." he chuckled.
"Of these little guys?" asked Angel, tickling his kitten.
He shrugged, "They're freaks." he replied from the floor before pushing the hell hound off.
"They are," Angel rolled his eyes, letting the puppies loose to run wild in their new space.
He grinned walking to the kitchen and getting out various lots of food.
Angel smiled, watching him in amusement as Mr. Boots rubbed against his legs, purring happily. "Imagine their faces if we asked them to move the dragon."
He chuckled, "Luckily he can fly." He murmured "Get the pet beds out of the attic.
"Yes, your highness," chuckled Angel, nuzzling him as he wandered upstairs.
He laughed watching him leave amused as he stroked the dog.
Angel returned with the pet beds a few moments, later, barely having time to put them down before Chompers snuggled into his.
Spike grinned, "Feels like home now."
"Yeah, it does," Angel smiled, leaning in and kissing his forehead. "All ours."
He smiled watching him, "Oi so long as we don't turn into that bloody poncy angel and demon couple."
Angel blinked. "The who and the what now?" he asked, amused.
"You must have heard of them."
"....Are those the ones Jack talks about?" asked Angel. "He works for the demon on the side, doesn't he?"
He nodded, "Yeah those two."
Angel chuckled. "I wouldn't call them poncy, if I were you, the demon works for Hell."
He shrugged, "So? I've said worse."
"Yes, but I'd rather you not go to Hell, Love," murmured Angel.
"I suppose," he relented
"Good Spike," Angel teased, ruffling his hair.
He batted his hand, "Oi!"
Angel laughed, doing it again.
"Stop it," he replied with a laugh.
"Make me!" he laughed, ruffling his hair again.
"Stop it" he replied with a laugh grabbing his arm.
Angel chuckled, trying to pull his arm away.
He laughed pulling on his arm.
Angel laughed, tumbling forward. "Hey!"
He yelped as he fell on him before laughing shoving him off
Angel laughed, rolling beside him. "Ow!" he chuckled.
He chuckled as he laughed lying back staring at the ceiling breathless.
Angel turned his head, watching him with a small smile.
He turned his head looking at him, "Bastard."
Angel smiled, leaning in and kissing the tip of his nose. "Only now and again."
"Most of the time," he murmured smiling back at him.
"Hey, that's undeserved!" laughed Angel.
"You messed with the hair." he teased.
"Couldn't help it, it was asking for it," Angel chuckled.
"It was not, it was behaving."
"Okay, you asked for it then," smirked Angel.
"How?" he asked amused.
"I haven't decided yet," smirked Angel.
He rolled his eyes, "daft bugger." he muttered
"I will though," Angel gave a firm nod.
"Really?"
"Eventually," he smiled.
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah right," he murmured
"I will," Angel grinned, giving Spike's belly a poke.
He blinked looking down at his stomach, "What's that for?"
"I felt like it," Angel teased, poking him playfully.
He chuckled "Make me self conscious." he complained.
"Why, you don't think you're fat, do you?" asked Angel, arching his brow.
"No, just wish you'd stop poking it," he muttered
"Alright, I'll stop," smiled Angel, lying back on the floor.
He chuckled turning onto his side and wrapping his arm around him.
Angel blinked, then smiled, pulling him in, cuddling him close.
He burrowed in, "Thanks for cheering me up."
Angel smiled softly, kissing the top of his head as he cuddled him in. "You're welcome, Love."
He smiled leaning his head up kissing his chin.
Angel purred soothingly, brushing a hand through his hair, smoothing it out after it had been ruffled.
He smiled leaning into it as he breathed. "Love you pet."
"Love you, too," he smiled softly. "So much."
He smiled "You get the first dedication."
Angel blushed softly. "Yeah?" he breathed.
"Yeah, I'll give you a signed copy." he whispered smiling.
Angel smiled, leaning in to give him a gentle kiss. "Thank you, it'd be an honour."
You don't need to thank me," he murmured
"Want to," Angel murmured. "Proud of you."
He ducked his head, "Thanks Pet."
"I mean it," smiled Angel. "I'm so proud of you, Love."
He smiled softly nuzzling him gently
Angel stroked his hair gently pulling him close. "I really made you feel better?"
He nodded softly, playing with his hand.
Angel nuzzled him fondly. "Good," he whispered softly.
He smiled, "You can't be my agent though."
"Oh, I'd be a terrible agent," laughed Angel. "Why do you think I have Harmony to do my paperwork?"
He chuckled, "Just in case you thought you could."
"Don't worry, I know full well I can't," Angel chuckled softly into his hair.
He nodded burrowing n, "Floors too bloody cold." he murmured
Angel chuckled. "Come on then," he murmured, sitting up, pulling the smaller vampire into his arms.
Pike burrowed in, "You’re not exactly warmer pet."
"I'm getting there, shush," Angel chuckled, standing up, moving to their room.
He smiled leaning against him as they moved up the stairs.
Angel kissed his forehead gently, climbing up and turning into their room, putting him gently on the bed, wrapping a blanket around him as he moved to lie beside him.
"This is more comfortable at least" he replied burying in.
Angel chuckled. "What more do you want, Love?" he murmured, wrapping the blanket closer around Spike.
He smiled burrowing in, the warm blood in his stomach and spreading through his veins. "This is good pet."
"Hmmm, good," murmured Angel softly, nuzzling him gently as he cuddled him close.
"You'd better prefer this to filing." he whispered.
"Oh, always," whispered Angel back, kissing him softly.
He smiled and cuddled in kissing him back slowly
Angel purred softly into it, before snuggling in. "Love you, William."
"I love you too Liam...you're in my blood."
He smiled softly, his fingers playing through his hair.
He chuckled leaning into it, "You'll turn me soft in a minute," he whispered.
"I haven't already?" he teased gently.
He chuckled softly, "No one's supposed to know that."
"Ahhh, you're secrets safe with me," murmured Angel with a soft smile.
"It better be," he whispered, "Only you know it."
"Like I'd give away your secrets," murmured Angel softly.
"True," he whispered kissing him softly.
Angel smiled, returning the kiss. "See, I look out for you."
"Yes you do," he murmured indulgently, "Bloody Irish playboy ponce." he whispered smiling into the kiss.
"Playboy?" he asked against his lips.
He grinned, "That’s what you were weren't it? A layabout?"
"Well, yeah, alright," Angel chuckled. "But that was a long time ago."
"I didn't mean now pet." he chuckled.
"Good," Angel grinned, kissing him slowly.
He smiled softly leaning into the kiss "More fun than a poet."
"Oh, I don't know," Angel spoke softly against his lips. "You're smarter than me."
"Yeah well that's a certainty." he replied
"See? So you were better off being a poet, all I learned was how to get drunk and have lots of sex."
"Yes and all I did was write about it,"
Angel smiled, playing with his hair. "Write beautifully about it."
He smiled softly, "Still..."
"And you're perfect," Angel whispered, kissing his skin, worshiping.
He shivered and smiled, "Mmmm pasty white?"
"Still perfect," he whispered against his skin.
He chuckled softly, "Mousy."
"Perfect," he kissed his throat.
He smiled pleased arching his throat "Hmmm gotta be summat wrong with me,"
"Not a thing," he whispered,
He laughed, "I'll remember that."
"No doubt it'll come to bite me in the ass at some point."
"Probably," he murmured with a smile.
"Ah, I'll risk it," he smiled.
"Bad move," he murmured smiling
"Is it?" he purred.
"OH you know I'll use it."
"Oh, I know," he chuckled
"You’re trusting me then?" he asked
"Always," murmured Angel softly.
He grinned, " Love's fool."
"You are, that," Angel smiled, resting his forehead against Spike's.
"Hey..." he laughed, "I was talking about you," he mumbled smiling
"Me? I thought YOU were the loves fool," he chuckled
He grinned "both are maybe" he whispered kissing the corner of his mouth
Angel chuckled, allowing the kiss. "Oh, so I'm getting dragged into this too, mmm?"
He shrugged, "Aren't you?"
"Only when you're concerned, Will," Angel chuckled softly.
He smiled amused kissing him , "That's good. Keep your wits about you with everyone else.
"As if everyone else counts in that department," murmured Angel softly
He grinned, "You never know." he chuckled running his fingers through his hair.
Angel pulled him in for a deep kiss. "You are the one I love, William," he whispered softly. "Completely and utterly."
He grinned leaning into him, "I noticed."
"Well, you should have by now," chuckled Angel.
He smiled slightly, "True." he murmured against his mouth
Angel chuckled softly, deepening the kiss and pulling him close. "Don't you forget it."
He laughed softly falling on him, "what if I don't?" he asked teasing.
"Then I'll be very depressed and you won't get anymore sex," teased Angel.
He chuckled, "Damn it." he replied "Going for my weak spot"
"Every time," Angel whispered, nuzzling him.
"Bastard," he whispered.
"You wouldn't have me any other way," he whispered back.
"No reason for you to enjoy it," he chuckled.
"Hmmm how would you stop me?" he teased.
"Hmmmmm put cookie dough in your blood."
"That would be cruel and unusual," smiled Angel, his finger tracing the line of one of Spike's cheekbones.
He smiled leaning into it, "Fun though."
"No doubt you'd find it very amusing."
Course," he replied with a smile.
Angel shook his head, rolling his eyes as his fingers played in his hair. "Pain in the ass," he said affectionately.
"Yours," he whispered
Angel laughed, kissing him slowly. "That's a given."
"Really?" he breathed into the slow kiss
"I'd have thought so, yeah," said Angel, deepening it with a sigh.
He nodded "HMmm one day I'll have to get you to tattoo my name onto your arse." he chuckled
Angel laughed. "What? 'Property of Spike'?"
"I don't see why not."
Angel chuckled. "Do I get my name on yours?"
He pulled a face "Suppose..."
Angel raised a brow. "Really? I never win this one"
He smiled watching him, "Off day?"
"I should be taking advantage of that," Angel smiled, nuzzling him.
"Probably, but you won't." he chuckled
"Hmmm, damn, you're right," Angel smiled fondly.
He laughed softly, "See even though you have this gorgeous vamp all to yourself, you're just too soft."
"Can't help it," Angel kissed his jaw gently. "Love this gorgeous vamp, and he knows he can get away with murder with me.”
"I have done," he murmured with a soft chuckle pulling Angel over him and kissing him, "Wrapped around my finger."
Angel returned it with a smile. "Oh, completely."
He smiled, "All mine," he whispered pulling him down deepening it, taking Angel's hand and placing it on his chest, "In exchange you get this."
Angel returned the deeper kiss, before smiling softly. "And I protect it with my all," he whispered softly. "You have mine, too, you know."
"I know," he whispered leaning up and kissing him.
Angel returned the kiss, gently, pulling him close, strong arms wrapping around him protectively.
He smiled leaning into him burying into his embrace.
Angel cuddled him close. "Love you, William Pratt," he whispered softly. "More than anything in this world."
"Thanks love," he whispered his eyes looking up into his
Angel kissed his forehead tenderly, cuddling him gently.
He laughed curling in, burying his face into his neck.
Angel chuckled, arching his neck for him with a contented purr.
"Mmmm you're a lucky man."
"Oh, I know," he whispered softly.
He sighed, "I am too."
"Yes," Angel nuzzled into his hair. "You are."
He chuckled "big headed poof." he murmured
"Snarky bastard," Angel responded fondly.
"Your sneaky bastard," he murmured purring gently.
"All mine," Angel whispered, returning the purr.
He looked at him, leaning into the vibrations
Angel purred softly, his fingers brushing gently through Spike's hair.
He smiled curling in, his eyes closing.
Angel watched him, still purring as he pulled the blanket closer around Spike, resting his chin on top of his head.
He smiled curling in and falling asleep in his secure arms
