I finally loaded all the pictures to photobucket, it was really a pain because my stupid computer shuts down on its own. I hate it, it annoys the crap out of me. Nonetheless, the job is done. I can list everything I did. I’m going to try to make it as detailed as possible.
August 4, 2004-- We (Tia, Tio, Diego, Natasha, Kristine, and I) left Miami at 1030 am and arrived at Boston at around 330 pm. We flew song Delta, it was sooo cool, they have 24 cable channels, including 4 ESPN’s, E!, BET, The History Channel and 17 others I can’t recall. We rented our car and drove to the hotel, Amerisuites. I forgot to mention that they did not feed us on the plane, thus we were on the verge of eating anything that came our way. And if you know me, you know that when I get hungry I get in a not so very good mood. So, we went to eat at a buffet at a mall close by, went to a supermarket called Shaws to buy a cart of munchies and then we returned to the hotel to unpack and rest for a long, long day. It was really hot, but it rained during the evening. Nothing we were not use to since it rains every freaking day in Miami.
August 5, 2004-- The hotel offered a continental breakfast. Most hotels offer continental breakfast which includes coffee and pastries and some even have cereal, but Amerisuites has a huge buffet with eggs, sausage, muffins, English muffins, bagels, cereal, pastries, waffles, juices, milk, coffee, tea, I think that’s about it. We were ready to leave, when the sliding door opens a very cold cold breeze hit our bodies, filling our flesh with shivers and goosebumps. Apparently the rain brought a cold front. It was 65 degrees outside. After breakfast we drove to the subway station and took the train to Boston and arrived at the Prudential Center which is the equivalent to a Brickell Avenue here, but with brick buildings… really truly beautiful. Then we went on our first tour, the bestest tour I’ve been to… a Duck Tour (Quack, Quack) here’s a picture of the amphibious vehicle the tour was given in. Not only does this car drive, but it swims… meaning one minute we’re on land the next we’re in water… totally cool . We got a tour of the city through land and water…
And this is my tia driving the Duck boatcar
After the tour we ate BK, and explored Boston, went into a huge, beautiful library (I envy Bostonians, every public library should look like that; unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of that), we walked to a Universalist church known for it’s 12 or 15 stained glass windows and then we walked through Boston Common (a huge park with a million trees, and lakes, and it was nothing like tropical park, we also went to see where Paul Revere tomb was, yes yes I walked into a cemetery, even though I’m petrified of cemeteries. My aunt quoted something that made me think “be afraid of those who live not those who are dead.” Then we walked through Quincy Market… here’s a pic of us right in front… hmm you could say it’s like a Bayside here, full of shops and places to eat…
Then we walked through Downtown Boston and decided to go into Filene’s basement, only because the tour guide mentioned we could find tons and tons of stuff super cheap in her basement. Let me describe this place fully. As you walk in it looks like a Burdines or a Sears type of thing, then there are signs indicating Filene’s basement.. The upper basement is full of guys clothing and guys stuff like tools and junk, the lower basement is all for girls full of purses, clothes, lingerie, jewelry, shoes all for really really really cheap. After all that commotion we returned to the hotel, everyone took showers and we watched 13 going on 30.. Oh that movie is soooo cute, I’m so going to buy it.
August 6, 2004-- Woke up and ate that hugemongus breakfast and off to Plymouth which is like an hour away from Medford (the suburb we stayed in). It was still excessively cold outside so we were forced to buy sweaters. In Plymouth we walked into a little museum of the Mayflower and the Pilgrims here’s a picture of me with some british aristocrats (whom I thought looked extra funny)
Right next to the outdoor museum there was a replica of the Mayflower, called the Mayflower II, I took a picture in a corner were of the ship…
There was a pilgrim actor that interrogated Natasha, oh that was funny
Him: “so what settlement are you from?”
Natasha: “Miami”
Him: “oh is that Spanish or Indian?”
Natasha: “no, no we’re Spanish.”
Him: “so how old are you?”
Natasha: “15”
Him: “I could find you a job as a maid servant, go see the Williams family their in need…”
Then I left cuz it was tooooo funny, he had an accent and everything…
The ship in the background is the Mayflower II
We went to see Plymouth rock… Natasha and tio
We drove to another outdoor museum called Plymouth Plantation, it’s a 17th century village, well a duplicate of the village the pilgrims built in 1627 in the village there are actors, pretending they’re pilgrims. Lol, if you ask them anything after the year 1627 the pretend to be oblivious to it. Diego asked a bull owner what time it was and he answered “it must be after noon and almost supper time because the sun is positioned more towards the west” now that was funny, and the way they were dressed, im glad we have all this on film… it’s a bucket of laughs….
Natasha and me in a fort on a cannon in the mock village
After we went to eat at MamaMia’s, yummy yummy Italian. Afterwards we drove to Capecod and I fell totally asleep, well Capecod is like 2 hours from Medford. After that we went back to the hotel.
August 7, 2004-- Yummy breakfast. Then Tia, Kristy, and me went to Boston (Chinatown and the theater district) and Diego, Chacha and Tio went to the Science museum to see a Lord of the Rings Exhibit. Tia, Kristy and I spent the whole entire day shopping, I spent soooo much money it’s not even funny. Afterwards, we went on a sunset cruise, it was toured and beautiful.
This is a pic of all of us drinking Piña Coladas (of course, virgin) waiting for the cruise to board
I didn’t know that boats could go from side to side, anywho this is the view as we departed
Chacha and me
The sun setting and the city
The USS Constitution fires a cannon ball when it’s officially sunset, the USS Constitution has been around since before 1812 it’s the only surviving battle ship and it contains 10% of the original ship after it’s many restorations and behind is the monument for the Battle of Bunker Hill I don’t remember the history of Bunker Hill
On our way back to Boston
We left back to Medford, ate at Papa Gino’s, PizzA!!! And watched Troy! Brad Pitt is so fine
August 8, 2004-- Happy 17th Birthday Diego!!! We surprised him with a cake in morning. We didn’t do much we just drove around looking at cute little houses and then decided to go to Harvard and MIT in Cambridge. Harvard has it’s on city, there are shops everywhere in Harvard Square. Then we were off to Boston again… We went to the Cheesecake Factory… I had Pasta Da Vinci, oh man it was the best pasta I’ve had in my whole entire life… anywho here’s diego’s happy b-day cake
We drove around some more, and found this really pretty church
Then we went back to the hotel to pack our bags and get ready for miami… I was excited I really did miss everyone and miami… I didn’t miss the weather however, I loved the coolness and lack of humidity there was over there, I hate the heat and the extra humidity there is in miami.
August 9, 2004-- our last breakfast, and then checkout and off we went to the airport.
Miscellaneous--
Pictures of the city
Coming out of the subway this is the first thing I saw
All in all, I conclude that…
(I never got bored because when I did I read the Count of Monte Cristo, it's pretty good so far, nothing like the movie, full up to the top w/ details)
