Uh oh! A friend of mine turned me onto a new show. It's called "Star Crossed." It's has it's similarities to "Roswell." I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to watch it because right now I watch everything On Demand. Thankfully it was On Demand and I watched the first episode today. I might have to go and watch it again before I post anything coherent. So here's the similarities and differences:
* Aliens crashed landed on Earth. -- But whereas in "Roswell" it happened in 1947 and became the famed "Roswell Incident," the Atrians are fleeing from their now destroyed planet and crashed landed. All mad chaos ensued.
* Young alien(s) are found by humans. -- In "Roswell", Max and Isabel were adopted and Michael was bounced around from foster family to foster family. They were also human/alien hybrids. Roman, a 6 year old Atrian hides in a shed and is found by another 6 year old girl, Emery.
* Aliens go to high school. -- But unlike in "Roswell" where they hide in plain sight, the Atrians are integrated into a regular high school reminiscent of Little Rock, Arkansas and the Little Rock Nine back in 1963. In fact, they are even called the "Atrian Seven."
* Aliens have cool powers. -- Yeah, the "Roswell" aliens had WAY COOL powers: dream walking, moving objects, healing, starting fires, etc. I'm not entirely sure the Atrians have as cool as powers, but there is something about their herbs and their own body chemistry that has some healing components.
* Aliens fall in love with humans. -- In "Roswell" it was Liz and Max. In "Star Crossed" it's Roman and Emery.
Beyond that, I'm not sure if there will be much more similarities, but I'm really liking the dynamic they have here and they've already set up like a TON of SUB-PLOT besides the romance aspect. Can't wait for more!
