my new favorite movie!
On my last day in San Francisco, I managed to skip out of a family dinner and convinced my cousins C and M to watch a movie instead. The movie was 500 Days of Summer, a movie that will probably be out on DVD first before it will be shown in Korea.
Plus, when I interviewed former NYT film critic ElvisMitchell a few months ago, he enthusiastically recommended 500 Days of Summer. Now if a former NYT film critic tells me to see a movie, I really should!
I'm glad I did watch it. It was funny, quirky, romantic and overall, really really good. Definitely one of my favorite movies now, and I wouldn't mind watching it over and over.
There's so much to love about this movie. Joseph Gordon Levitt's puppy dog look. Zooey Deschanel's hair and wardrobe. Tom's funny friends. The cute Ikea sequences. The dialogue. The way it made LA look really pretty and architecturally beautiful. Cool use of The Smiths' Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want and overall awesome soundtrack. And did I mention Zooey's clothes?
But this was my favorite scene in the movie.
