Rest In Peace - Phu Ngoc Nguyen Nov. 27, 1983 - June 07, 2005
On Thursday, a friend told me that Anh Phu had passed away. At first, I wasn't sure who he was talking about. Later on, I found a memoriam website that was dedicated to Anh Phu. I was so shocked. I couldn't believe it.. how could he have died? On Sunday, when I went to temple, we had a little service for him. Then his family came in and had the traditional vietnamese service. Amy and I walked up to his mom and gave her a hug. When I saw his family.. that was when it really hit me. Anh Phu, the guy who i went to temple with, who just graduated from Cal State Fullerton, got accepted to UCLA, who is vice president of the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations, the guy who I now look up to as my idol and my big brother........really passed away... During his 21 years of life.. he accomplished so much. More than anyone at his age could ever do. If only we had 1/10th of what Anh Phu was.. this world would definately be a better place. Anh Phu had his whole life ahead of him.. so many goals, so many dreams.. Going to his house today.. and listening to what his father said.. really made life changing impacts on me. I want to be like Anh Phu.. I want to fulfil his dreams and goals for him.. I won't let you down Anh.. I really am going to miss you. Although you weren't around much.. but everytime you were there.. I will remember all of those moments.. Good Bye Anh Phu. Em se nho Anh rat nhieu..
Sigh... life and death.... so hard to understand...
