FUCKING IDIOTS

Well, alright. SFA got a shooting threat today, so you know what the administration decides to do? NOT CANCEL CLASSES!

Here's a copy of the e-mail we received regarding the matter:

April 16, 2009 8:00 a.m.

Several threatening signs were found posted on and off campus this morning. The signs found on campus stated "4-16-09 A shooting will occur today and students will die." Several signs were also found off-campus at the Grove apartment complex stating "4-16-09 10 people will be killed and shot at the grove." While these messages are disturbing, there have been no other indications of a threat. Classes will continue as scheduled. Police patrols have been increased today. We ask that students, faculty and staff be vigilant and notify University Police immediately if they witness any unusual activity. Any updates will be posted on this site. Go to WWW.sfasu.edu for campus alert information.

I put the important part on bold for you guys. What the fuck is wrong with this town? "Oh hey! Someone wants to shoot up the school! Fuck that! We'll let the kids go to class like nothin's goin' on! Duuur hurrr hurrr...."

I'm also very glad at this moment that I moved out of The Grove when I did. This time last year, I was still living there!

I ended up going to class this morning, despite the threat, because I REALLY hate missing class. My teacher locked the classroom door and we drew the shades that looked out over the quad. Campus was almost deserted except for a few students who hadn't checked their e-mails or who just didn't think it was a serious matter. Several professors canceled their classes for today, and until further notice, tomorrow as well.

"University Police are coordinating the investigation of the notes that were posted earlier today with the Nacogdoches City Police, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office, Nacogdoches ISD Police Department, the Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers and the FBI," said another one of the e-mails the sent out.

At least my life isn't boring here at school. :)

Wish me luck, guys!
