... or side-dish eating, if you happen to be a vegetarian, is approaching, and with it trips to North Louisiana, a region that I have come to know better than I ever wished or hoped for. UNO is throwing one final bone in our way by announcing that funds will not be automatically transferred to Louisiana schools other than LSU, so that there is another time-consuming paperwork thing to do before i leave.
yesterday, i made this awesome german cake/pastry called "Linzer Schitten"... the dough features ground hazelnuts and the thing is cut in half and filled with rasperry jam, kinda like a sandwich. it is a slice of heaven few americans, i believe, have ever dug their teeth in. it will be served for dessert at the Lambert thanksgivin. Being the stupid foreigner that I am, i totally overlooked the fact that we will have to thank the lord before we eat. that will leave me feeling awkward, since I am not too closely acquainted with da Lord.
on friday, we will go up to shreveport to see r.j. perform, yo! looking forward to that.
in other news, i am reading punk planet's collected interviews and revisiting diy culture/ activism, aka trying to get my ass off the couch and work on things other than homework. also, lauren has posted an excellent blog entry on myspace about advertising that is right on, as is negativland's "dispepsi". muchos kudos for good taste and intelligence...
starting next july, my student status in the US will end and if I don't find a job/internship related to my major, I will have to leave. If you hear about something in the media/film/video field, let me know. If you plan to befriend me, do it now so we will have some fun to make up for the tears if I have to go. how presumptious of me... will people really cry?
also, does anybody else find it scary how applying one filter in photoshop makes fotos look supercool? i think design should be harder...
