I seriously had every intention of writing about LARP. It was so much fun. All those details about plot, character, and little details about the game are fuzzy now and the best of what I wanted to write is lost to my crap memory. Dammit. Blergh.
I've been super-crazy-busy outside of work, so there's a good excuse for not writing--I hardly see a computer in my "free time." But I've been having mostly-slow days at work, and I still haven't blogged a damn thing in over a month. That's pretty awfully fail. I also brought my Steampunk novelette back to work, so hopefully I can get my downtime in gear and do a bit more writing. Both here to update and record daily goings-on, and also in my story. Inspiration has to strike again at SOME point, right?!
I'm loving the new job so far. I love my boss. She's awesome and everyone is still amused by me, so that's great. I have full access to internets when I'm not busy, and as long as everything gets done, she's super-cool with me doing what I do... NO MORE STUPID PRODUCTIVITY TRACKER.
It's like a vacation after Microsoft.
The only thing that's been awful since I started this job was that I got SUPER-SICK while I was in Suffern for my training. Was fighting a flu before I left, thought I was better and dealing with a remaining sore throat... but turns out I caught STREP. Ugh. Was a nightmare of a few days, and had to leave early from New York to get home and get on anti-biotics immediately, as the sore throat was so bad that I could hardly swallow at all--or sleep... BIG UGH.
Also found out from this adventure that I am allergic to Amoxicillin. I broke out in a terrible rash of hives for a week. Nightmare. But I've been healthy and back at work since the end of September, and made it through relatively unscathed!
Things have still been a bit nuts lately though, mostly because of
Rocky Horror at Barnstormers Theater. I've never done a community theater show where I was required to be at rehearsals more than 3 times a week, and RHS rehearsed 5 out of 7 days a week. I am just now getting back into practice with the band(s) again after just about a month off--just in time for our
Nov. 6th show at The Wedge (which my Dad, stepmother and stepsister/stepbrother-in-law are going to be attending, yay!). In addition to all that practice for one thing or another, I have been trying to keep a clean house, do laundry, exercise/shower in the mornings before work (this has fallen by the wayside while I've been in actual show-weeks), and be there for Pat.
Pat's grandfather died about 2 weeks ago, and it's hit him pretty hard. Pappy was an amazing man, and someone that Pat looked up to probably more than anyone else in his family. It's been really rough on him and to top it all off, he was just laid off of his new job. Fun fun fun times. *sigh* He's was really super-motivated the day after he was laid off, and that's been coming and going in waves. He has times where he's still hit so hard by his grief that he can't get himself out of it and back into inspiration-mode. I think it will be very good when I'm through with Rocky, so that I'll be able to be around a bit more. If I decide to do another show in the Spring, the earliest auditions aren't until February (RENT), and I won't be going as far away anymore.
That's basically my plan as far as life, but I'll get more into that once things start to pan out. It's been tough trying to live with one little pinky toe still back down in DE. It's time to be a PA resident. There are things that are important to get back to DE for on occasion, but it's getting tough to consider it somewhere that I can regularly be a part of things (ie. theatrical productions, etc).
ANYWAY, to get myself back on track with the life-update... Rocky Horror has been GREAT, aside from the huge time-drain it was during the rehearsal process. I'm having a blast, and every show that goes by, I realize that turning "29+1" at Rocky Horror is really just about appropriate. ACTUAL birthday celebration at PA Renaissance Faire with a good number of my best buds is also going to be kind of perfect. If one has to turn 30, one might as well do it surrounded by the people and the pursuits that one loves best, no?
Let's see... other exciting things since I last wrote in here...?
I now have a healthy interest in modeling again... Born from sitting for Bunny's brochure for her new hat-store on etsy (check it out here:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/comicbookbunny!). I even have an account on Model Mayhem now, at the urging of at least two of the three photographers that we worked with that day. Not that anything will actually come of it, but I love dressing up and doing hair/makeup (Bunny ROCKS), and taking photos looking lovely... Can't help it. Heh.
I haven't seen much of... well, anyone lately... But especially Aimee, as we're both insanely busy and life has not allowed us to visit much lately. Miss her tons! But at the end of September (on Mom's birthday!), we were at least able to go together to the
Jason Mraz concert at UD... Which was fantastically amazing. We had a great time. Jason and his band were really "on" that night, so that helped. We danced and sang--and even made a stealth mission to recover my water bottle after not being allowed to take it inside (stoopid UD). At one point in the evening, Jason pulled a 12 year old girl and an adult couple up onto the stage to dance with him for one song. That may have been the highlight of the night. That boy really knows how to make an enormous arena crowd feel like a family for a little while. Also, my love for the evening was cemented when they closed with "
All You Need Is Love." :-)
I'll try to do a bit better with updating again. I miss pouring out my thoughts to livejournal. Also, I'm sure there will be tons more
Forever Wednesday to pimp soon, and more photos to share...

So, much love to LJ and to all of my friends out there. I'm still here. Still hanging in... Turning 30 in 5 days, with a smile. :-)
