I just had my first positive reponse from a job. It's for a Traning Company (like for industrial workers to make sure they're trained in safety, etc), so it's not TERRIBLY exciting, but the pay is good, the work should be good, and it's a smaller office, which I liked back when I was working at Caldwell.
Not to say I'm guaranteed an interview, let alone the actual job...
When they called, they were all... "So you can't start til June 1?" and they can't afford to pay me a bonus that would be equivalent to my severance from Avon, so nothing may come of it in the end... But they called me back (the first company of the 20 or so resumes I've sent thusfar) and it's a $36,400 job + Benefits. It's in Blue Bell, PA (20 min from KofP). The guy I spoke with DID seem interested though, and he seemed to like me. He gave me his phone number, so I'll call him next week unless I hear from him first, to see if I can set up a proper interview. It sounds like they're trying to replace someone who may not be doing the job all that well, or perhaps he's trying to leave the company or something... he wanted to give me his cell instead of the work number ("just in case someone were to figure out what was going on")...
So, there still may be a chance of them waiting for me, if I prove to be the best candidate. And if not... the search goes on, and my heart is at least rejuvinated with hope for the future... Here's hoping for this, and for more positive news, should this not be the job that pans out.
But just imagine if I could line something up to start ON June 1st?! I could put in my 30 days to move out of Harbor Club at the end of April, and be ready to move and start the new job right on schedule... It could really happen! With Pat's new job option and potential full time schedule (not saying anything... his news to tell should it pan out), we should be much closer to being ready to get a move on with our lives. Literally.
Anyway, there's the first of many going away parties going on at work today, so I'm off to join the fun and stuff my belly.
