On Friday evening Pat came down just after I got home from work, and we made dinner and had a really sweet "night in" with Buffy-watchingand candles and all. That's all I'll say, in the interest of preserving your collective sweet-new-relationship-gag-reflexes... ;-)
Our happy little group of faire-goers was rained out of our last day at PA Ren Faire on Saturday after only two rain-drenched hours. There were no pics taken, because it was soaking and we were all fearing for our phones/cameras, but I almost wish we had a few drowned-rat photos for posterity... At least we all ended up with some discount wine and a story we can tell for years hence.
We were troopers, and would have stuck it out and shopped or whatever until the rain finally stopped, but we had to leave as they closed the whole faire early... For the most part, everyone left the whole experience tired and cranky, even though most of us had been determined to make the best of the rainy weather. But it was eventually decided that the evening was best spent with hot showers followed by lazing around, due to disappointment, chills and exhaustion.
Of course, our miserable-weather Saturday was followed on Sunday by the nicest day of the season for the final day of faire... hah.
Sunday ended up being a gorgeous "lazy day" in the new tradition of "lazy Sundays." It all started off with a trip to the grocery store that left me realizing that I'm actually all but 100% broke, with no credit! Pat saved the day and purchased the groceries (I'm still embarassed, and I owe him big for that one).
When we finally got home and made some tasty brunch, the rest of the day/evening was lovely. We Buffy-ed away the afternoon, then watched some of the Steelers/Giants game (*groan*), and went out to dinner at Red Lobster--OH, NOM! Thank goodness for the last of the leftover unspent Faire-cash!
We watched Across The Universe when we got home, and I'm super-extra-pleased that he seemed to like it as much as I do. *Grin*
And pretty much the best part about Sunday night was that Pat has off on Mondays, and he stuck around for ONE MORE night, so it wasn't like the end of the weekend at all...
...even though I had to work on Monday morning, and leave my cozy bed with snuggly boy at home, and trudge off into the cloudy, ugh-tastic morning. HOWEVER, lunch with Pat, and dinner with Pat, and (more) Buffy with Pat was wonderful before he had to head home to start the week "for real."
SO... What's ahead?
* Delirious Rush, this Friday night for Halloween & 28th Birthday (ouch) Fun!
* "Zombie Lurch" in Washington DC on Saturday!
* "Lazy Sunday" on Sunday afternoon/evening...
I can't believe I have 2+ hours of work left today. I've been doing all but twiddling my thumbs since half an hour after I got in this morning... *dies of boredom* At least it means I have the time and inclination to update the lj. Haha!
