I don't know how to start, what to say, really. That's a lot of the reason its taken me 2 weeks to write about it! It was simply a wonderful weekend. :)
The drive up was pretty quick. Greg drove more than I did, and it was dark all the way in until we reached mom's. So I was kinda bummed out not to be able to see the foliage on the way into town. We passed out as soon as we got home.
When we finally woke up, we had to do some shopping, but Greg didn't bring a coat. Silly boy. It's cold up there. It's fall in Vermont! So we went up to Essex first and ate Foodees pizza and we bought him a heavy sweatshirt to keep warm. Then we zipped over to the mall and I grabbed something fun for Jamien's Bachelorette party (The Cookie Kama Sutra and some vanilla body cream/icing... hee. Get it?)
I went to go meet the girls for Bachelorette party stuff in the afternoon. We had some snacks and set up the suite at the Best Western with Kris's decorations and party "acoutrements" and then we all got glammed up when Jamien got there, had a few glasses of champagne, and headed out to the bars. Jamien had a t-shirt that the girls made that had a list of about 8 bars in Burlington, and we started at Vermont Pub & Brew and hit every one. The idea was to get someone to check off the bar and sign the t-shirt everywhere we went. It was a complete BLAST. We played a silly "i spy" type kind of card game called "that guy" or something, where you had to see a guy personifying the trait on the card (ie. "Hawaiian shirt guy" or "mullet guy") and point him out to the other girls. It was silly, but provided us with much drunken fun and many laughs. I *SO* lost the game... Because I held the "Perfect Guy" card... it says right on it: "Yeah right, as if he really exists..." But I should have thought on my feet and won the game if I'd realized that all I'd have had to do was point out CHRIS to Jamien when he met up with us at the end of the night! After all, to the bride... the groom *IS* the "Perfect Guy." Heee.
Greg was very agreeable about keeping himself busy over the course of the night, and hanging out with the other boys, and we met up a few times over our bar crawl that night, which was cool as well.
Once we hit all the bars on the t-shirt, and had a crazy cast of characters from a night on the town all sign the shirt for her, we headed back to the Best Western to hang out with the boys (back from the Bachelor party in Montreal, or from hanging out downtown playing pool at JP's), and to party a bit more. I passed out VERY shortly after we got back. lol!
(I will post more about the Bachelorette party once I get photos to punctuate the story from Kris). :)
The next morning, and all throughout the next day... I was VERY sick. I threw up like 20 times. No joke. I was miserable. Greg drove us home from the hotel room (where I crashed on the couch with a very drunk bride-to-be... heh. fun), and I put myself to bed until I had to get up and drag myself to the wedding rehearsal/rehearsal dinner.
As we drove up to the mountain. I told Greg I thought we'd have to skip the dinner and go home after the rehearsal 'cause I still felt so ill. I dragged myself up and down the mountain, sincerely kicking myself for overdoing it, and thanking the Goddess that the actual WEDDING wasn't that day.
I didn't WANT to miss the dinner, so when we were done with the rehearsal, I made myself go, and I DID start to feel better. I'm SO glad I made it there. It was a lovely night with the girls, and I got a necklace from Jamien and a card that made me cry, and all the bridesmaids got a PASHMINA SHAWL to wear to the wedding ceremony the next day so that we didn't FREEEEZE in our gowns at the top of the mountain. lol!
The next day was the wedding (*GLEEEE!*). Greg and I zipped down to Stowe in the morning and I met up with the girls for the Bridal party lunch. We made Jamien eat. Hee. Then, I got my hair done with the girls, and felt SO *beautiful.* We all went back to the hotel to get dressed, and all the Bridesmaids looked HOT. I mean we ALL looked great, everyone's dresses flattered them incredibly. To add to the perfectness of the day, the weather in Stowe was just REDICULOUSLY beautiful. Someone up there was smiling on Jamien on her wedding day. :)
We had to ride to the top of the mountain in a Gondola in order to get to the wedding/reception. It was lovely. 10 min. ride looking out over the mountains of Vermont in full autumnal color. The girls all rode up together with the photographer (who I knew from UVM) and it was so much fun. We went up in our dresses, and got Jamien dressed up at the top in a side room. She was just gorgeous. A princess. Her wedding was honestly turning out to be as "perfect" as any wedding could ever hope to be... the weather, the place, the family and friends, the dress, the hair, the food, the music, the full moon... Everything. I think I said to someone before, her wedding is now the wedding that all other weddings will be judged by in my book. lol.
My camera busted, so I'm glad we have pics (already) from Kelly, and I can't wait to see MORE, and the ones from Kris, from both the wedding AND the Bachelorette party!!!
We had dinner, and it was great. SO yummy. (The appetizers were all to DIE for as well... I'm still craving those stuffed mushrooms!!)
Everything was great... Dancing started. Although Greg adamantly refused to dance with me... all night long. Slow dances included... I danced with all my friends (some I hadn't seen at all in ages, like Kelly, Julie, Phlip and Colleen, and others, it was nice to see "for real" after keeping in touch on lj, like Sara) for the rest of the night.
Then... I "CAUGHT" THE BOUQUET. I'm not seeing anyone these days, really. Greg and I are... Well, we like spending time with one another, to give the only "easy" explaination. And I was pretty sure the bouquet was "meant for" Erin, since she and Morgan should be the next to tie the knot... But I looked around just before the toss, prepared to fade into the background, and she wasn't even in the room. So, I decided to go for it, but it curved left, over my head. I turned around, and one girl looked like she had it, but she batted it across the floor towards me. I grabbed it, hoping I wasn't stepping on anyone's toes. And then I was thrilled to be holding the gorgeous bouquet. :) I returned it to Jamien, as she had thrown her ACTUAL bridal bouquet, and I was pleased to keep my own bridesmaid's bouquet (which I actually gave to my mother for her birthday, which had been the week before. She loves autumn and the flowers were just too beautiful to let them dry out and wilt on the drive back to Delaware.
Anyway, long Too bad I'm sure I WON'T be the next in that room to get married... heh)
We closed out the night with some more dancing and Greg and I tried to party with everyone back at the Inn (where they were keeping the bar open til' 2am for wedding guests), but we were exhausted, and NOT drunk enough to party with the happy drunken bride & groom and the other revellers. So we said our goodbyes, wished them fun times in Maui for the honeymoon, and took off for bed back in Colchester.
We hung out with mom for brunch on Sunday morning, and it was very nice. We went to Libby's diner, and then got an ice cream cake for my birthday (and mom's) from Friendly's and went back home to pack and get ready for the drive home. The drive home was full of traffic, and listening to the Steelers losing (sadly) on the radio. But also of happy memories of an amazing weekend with some of my favorite people, and my most favorite girl, Mrs. Jamien FORREST!!!! ;)
(Who is now no longer "J-Lu," as it is no longer applicable... but will hereby be known as "J-Faux" as it is funnier and just as accurate as "J-Fo" lol!) ;)
Love to Jamien, here are the photos from the wedding day (most are Kelly's professional shots, only 4 or 5 are mine):
This is the first photo of the bunch. It's from when the girls all took the gondola up together. This is EXCITED Jamien (and her dress), and Erin
We are silly bitches. This is a completely unflattering photo of me. Ugh. lol!
(Note the Pashminas and the necklaces from Jamien though!)
Erin helping Jamien with her veil in the Bridesmaid's room...
Erin and I helping with shoes, since bending over in a wedding dress like Jamien's would be awkward, at best. hee.
The kiss...
The grab...
Mr & Mrs. Chris and Jamien Forrest!
The view at sunset, immediately post-wedding
The wedding couple, party, family, and guests
Formals:
(Just look at that moon, and how cool is it that we were right there on the mountain under the gondolas as well!?!)
THE GIRLS!!!! (And our beautiful bouquets!)
This wasn't supposed to be a photo (I was sneaking between shots), but Kelly made us pose again, and I'm so glad she did.
This is my favorite photo from the whole weekend. I love my Jamien.
Then we did some fun Gondola photos!!! (This one is *SO* CUTE!)

Yay, friends! Yay, Music!, Yay!!!
The view after dark...
VICTORY IS MINE!!!
"What? Damn, boy... you hot! Marry me?"
Fun and love.
The end for now... But for the Forrests (Eeee!), it's a beautiful beginning. :)
