~In blood begun through blood undone.

Prologue:

Blood… So much blood…Dacia stares down at her blood soaked hands in a kind of intrigued horror. The dark life-fluid of the man beneath her covers them, stains them, marking her as a murderer. She watches disconnectedly as the blood runs from her fingertips and falls to the white linen which pools around her. These hands, her hands though she can barely feel them, are stained more deeply than the sheets ever could be. These hands that had just taken a life… no… not just a life… his life… the life of the only one she ever felt safe with. He was dead and it was by her hand? Yes, she remembers now. She remembers their passionate lovemaking. She remembers the look in his eyes as the time approached, knowing, accepting, and loving. She remembers the way in which he tilted his head back, eyes closing in a last breath of shared ecstasy as she brought the dagger down and through is neck. She remembers the feeling of him going stiff with the shock of the attack and how she had to use both hands to move the blade across his neck, the handle slick with his blood. Those eyes, she remembers looking into those eyes one more time, searching for something, anything to let her know that she had made the right choice. She remembers the light leaving those eyes and the sudden realization that she was wrong. It was all wrong.

Blood… so much blood…
