There is something about driving...
There really is. There is nothing like the feeling of freedom that it brings you. I own my car- it is 100% mine- I paid for it. It belongs to no one else. I own everything in that car. When driving I finally feel like I own me. I'm responsable for what happens to me when I drive, one wrong move and I could very well die. It really is taking your life into your hands. Yet even with such responsability it is one of the most relaxing things in existence. Perhaps that has something to do with it? I really don't know. When you drive you own yourself, no one else has you. I was driving back from a job interview today and Brooks & Dunn came on the radio- and I realised I was damn content. There was nothing on my mind at that moment- nothing at all. For the next half hour of my drive home I was happy with myself. I mean I love those around me, and although I need to improve it I generally like my life, but we all need time to think on occasion- and just that time in that old car- it can do so much.
