After a productive week with Gautami, where we quickly decided against two research problems and settled on a third, I'm now off to Paris to meet up with my sister and nephew. My nephew is traveling Europe this summer with an orchestra and the first segment involves staying for a few weeks with a family in Aix-en-Provence. My sister decided this would be a good opportunity for her to finally see Paris, so they tacked on a few days in the capital city to the start of the trip. I'm their unofficial tour guide for the weekend.
I'm now on the TGV from Lille. They apparently have wifi on the train now, in a beta stage. Emphasis on "beta stage." When you connect, you are not redirected to a login page. Rather, you have to know the exact URL of the login website. After you log in, you have to click a button to "activate your data usage." Below that button is the natural question "WHY IS THE DATA USAGE LIMITED?" To find out the answer, you (rather ironically) have to watch a video...
