Christian was supposed to come home last night from Minneapolis. I called him during the day while running errands, because I was concerned his flight might be delayed, since we were getting freezing drizzle in New Haven. He hadn't gotten any notification, but then 10 minutes later he called to tell me his flight had been cancelled. Cleveland, his stopover, was apparently faring far worse that New Haven, with heavy snow. Christian tried calling United, but couldn't get through after waiting on the phone twice for over a half hour. He was, however, automatically rebooked for the next day, BUT not for a morning flight, but rather the last flight out. This time he'd be going through DC, with only a 35 minute layover. I have my doubts about him making it home tonight again.
The worst part is that he's stuck in Minneapolis, where last night the temperature bottomed out at -20 degrees with a wind chill of -37. Today's high is only supposed to be -13. And even though the hotel extended the conference rate an extra day, it still is not at all a cheap place to stay. I just want him home.
