upcoming trips
Christian and I are packing tonight because we have to head to NJ tomorrow for our upcoming flights. Christian is leaving Tuesday morning from Newark for a four week trip to Mexico to do research. I, on the other hand, had thought I'd be spending all of August in New Haven, preparing for the upcoming semester. But last week, somewhere in the fields of Nebraska or Iowa, I found out that I was invited to give a talk at an undergraduate research symposium at the University of North Texas. So I leave on Wednesday and head back on Saturday. Luckily, I've got most of that talk ready since I have had so much to do this week academically in between everything else we've had to do.

In other news, we picked up our new (used) car today. It feels good driving it around.
