back in Lyon

Had a very productive time in Paris. Other than lunch and a short discussion afterwards, I didn't get to see much of Alain, but I was happy to have finally met him. Wolfgang set aside basically two full days for me to work together and it was great. We made some serious progress on our problem and I made another big leap on the train back to Lyon. It's funny, because I brought an extra stack of scrap paper just in case, and I went through so many ideas and calculations that I ran out by the end of the two-day trip.

Late this afternoon, Wolfgang and I were working in the lobby of the Institut Henri Poincaré, when who should come walking by but Wagner. He was up in Paris for some committee thingy he's on, so we said hello and then said we'll see each other back in Lyon on Thursday. By chance on the metro home, we ran into one of the ladies we buy from at the market and had a pleasant conversation with her.

Anyway, tonight I'm relaxing and so tomorrow I'll get to responding to LJ replies. Sorry for the delay!
