Christian's brother's wedding

Aug 01, 2010 09:41

Christian's brother Matthew and his fiancée Erin got married this Friday. It was a fairly standard wedding in a church, followed by a ginormous reception (300 people). Christian was the best man, so he had to be up at the main table while I got seated with his cousins. I got to know them a lot better, especially the cousins from Florida.

There was one scare at the wedding: Christian's 88-year old grandmother was standing on the dancefloor during the Electric Slide (either she was talking to someone near the dancefloor or dancing herself) and she didn't realize the direction of dancing would change and someone knocked her over. She hit her head on the ground and lay still for a few minutes while people took care of her, but eventually she got up and said she was fine. Christian's aunts took her and her husband home to look after them. It was a relief that it wasn't more serious.

Christian and I danced a lot, though only in the last hour did the music get more modern than Vanilla Ice. The in-laws are a very genial bunch and I was happy to get to know them. Good times.
