As The Mind Wanders...
I'm not thinking about much lately just whether or not I'm accepted into the athletic training program and whats happens afterward...
Here are some poems I read that I liked:
Faces
Within us all, there are many faces
and with each new day, we are faced with a question:
Who do I wish to be today,
What face shall I wear?
It seems that with every passing day,
We lose a sense of who we are.
With every passing day, we become the faces we wear,
Our true self fading,
Being worn away by the changing of masks.
In time, we will remain faceless,
An empty void playing part not to ourselves,
But to the masks we wear.
In time, the faces will fade.

On the Beach at Night
I watch the sky, like glistening Aztec gold, turning the waves of time into a liquid fire.
I watch it slowly die.
The silver coin of passion rises upon the
blackness of the night,
Upon thousands of diamonds shining brightly as if only for me.
The coin's passion drips into the ocean,
Turning the water into the brightest silver
that could be strung upon a woman's fair and
graceful neck.
The soothing waves crashing upon the land
have the most free feeling.
For it's something that no one can control.
A tear falls, gently rolling down my cheek
and comes to a stop, for it has frozen.
And as I lie there in the sand growing
colder by the moment...I realize how I long
to be loved...to be held.
But even more, how cold and alone I am as I
lie there...
on the beach at night,
in the night's most beautiful creation,
a weed lying among the roses

Haunted
Holdme 'til the ghosts in my mind
crawl back to their tombs.
It's so hard to smile when they come out
to haunt these empty rooms.
I want to crawl in a corner and cry,
curl up and die,
run wilde through a field and howl at the moon.
Product of painful yesterdays,
buried and exorcised away,
but tonight they're reaching for me
with their scalding arms of grey.
Hold me and tell me it'll be okay.
I know you don't understand,
just tell me anyway.
Hold me tight beneath a diamond-onyx sky.
Drown my fears in the midnight dew;
drown the pain of my ghosts in you.
