Some one I know

I saw a man beat his daughter

I saw a man beat his wife.

I saw a man abandon his children.

And now he wants to come back to there life.

I watched a girl console her mother.

I watched a child heal her bruises.

I saw a child with no childhood.

I’ve seen a young adult try to make sense of her fears

I know a girl who knew nothing of her father.

I know a girl who tried to find another.

I know a woman who deserves more credit than she’s given.

I know a child who deserves to be loved.

I knew a 12 yr old who wanted to die.

And now he’s mad because she doesn’t want him in her life.

I know a girl who blocked it all out.

Bottled it all in, kept it a secret.

I know a girl who lives with scars.

Across her legs

Across her face

And imbedded in her memory

I know the man who made those scars

And he’s mad because he has no right to be in my life.
