DH and I went out to dinner last night and then stopped at the autoparts store on the way back to get wiper blades and a new light bulb for the driver's side. Since it snowed, I don't think I'll be driving the Volvo today, but I'm very happy that those things got fixed. There was something in there about me not nagging enough - apparently since I wasn't reminding him that the headlight was out he thought that it was on my list of things to fix? Aside from the fact that he drives the same car at least once a week (three times a week lately), this story doesn't really hold water. But I'm devising a plan to reform my communication methods to include more nagging, or at least more direct requests (with due dates).
The boys were having so much fun (building houses out of nalco bricks) at Nana's that they didn't want to leave, and then having so much fun shoveling (pushing snow around on) the driveway that they didn't want to come inside, and then having so much fun cleaning the play room (throwing stuffed animals into the bin) that they didn't want to get ready for bed. Yeah, they were in fine form, perfect time for some video clips, but I didn't take any (too busy talking to Mom, then doing real shoveling, then folding and putting away laundry). I read them a story even though it was after 10 by the time they had their nightclothes on and teeth brushed. I was all happy that DH put clean sheets on their beds and filled the humidifiers.
Pretty hard to keep my eyes open this morning though.
