Title: What is important?
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Warnings: Sexual actions implied, probably some OOCness, fluff
Authors Notes: This is for coookie because she kind of asked for one the next time I was bored. This is me bored and attempting to ignore my homework~ And because she wanted to be for her, I'll be using a nickname for her because calling her Coookie in the story would be weird. I hope you like it and the name. Inspired by Somewhere Only We Know by Keane.

It had been a tough case, and truthfully they were all ready to go home and take a proper rest. Reid was leaving, Hotch had left slightly earlier, Prentiss was doing some last minute paper work and JJ had left as soon as she could. Garcia had left much earlier, since the mission was done and really, she didn't need to wait for them to come home, because she knew that they would. And so, in the office where Prentiss was quickly writing her report, Derek Morgan sat in his chair staring at his phone.

He should call her back, to let him know that she was home. But, he didn't know if she would be home or even if she would be awake. She had tried calling him during the case but he ignored her calls. Something he only did if something big was happening in the case. Which at those moments during this case, nothing was. It's not that he didn't want to talk to her but, seeing as they had fought before he left, he was afraid.

Yes, he, Derek Morgan, man who is afraid of nothing, is afraid of calling her because he afraid that she had decided. And that, that decision has taken her away from him. Why did he leave it up to her again? Right, because it was her and he was in the wrong.

Still, he loved her.

Really he did.

"You okay Morgan?" Looking up from his phone, Prentiss' voice brought him out of his worry-some thoughts. Not wanting to worry her, or anyone for that matter, he nodded.

"Yeah, just thinking about something." She smirked.

"You mean 'someone'," He gave her a wistful smile, one that she understood and put her hands up in surrender.

"Just call her," She said, packing up her stuff, slinging it over her shoulders, "No matter what you did, just call her. She probably knows how dangerous your job is. Just tell her that your home and put the ball in her court." He nodded again, smiling and thanked her. She just smiled and left.

He started to pack his things when his phone started to vibrate. He answered it like he normally would, and the voice on the other end gave him happy feelings.

"Oh thank god, it's over? Are you home, or on your way? Should I pick you up? Should I-" He interrupted her, laughing slightly.

"Lily, Lily, Lily. Yes it's over. I am home, and no you don't have to pick me up though-" He glanced at the clock. It read 1:43 am, "-Why are you still up? Don't you have work later today?" She was silent on her end, taking in deep breaths. Morgan stalled as he stepped towards the elevator.

"Lily?"

"Still here."

"What's wrong?" She let out a sigh.

"Can you come over? I know it's late and you're probably tired but, can you?" Still afraid, and not really tired anymore, Morgan said yes and that he would be there in about ten minutes. He could tell that she smiled when she said thank you and hung up, what he couldn't tell, even with all his pro-filer training was what she wanted to talk about.

He hoped it wasn't about the fight.

When he got to her house, the front lights were on and that was it. It had started to rain, but he didn't care. Locking his car he went to her door. Not using the key he was given, he knocked. He heard her lightly running to the door, he was damp when she opened the door. Her blonde hair was pulled back into a messy bun and her bright green eyes sparkled in the dim moonlight. She smiled and let him in.

"You're wet! Here, take your clothes off and I'll get you some of your dry ones." He smiled, taking his shoes and socks off, following behind her as she walked up the stairs to her bedroom. He peeled off his wet shirt and pants, left standing in his underwear she gave him the pj's that she had stolen borrowed a week ago.

"Since their yours, you should wear them."

"Even though you like them the most?" She blushed and ignored the question while, ushered him out of the room.

"Derek. You are okay right? Nothing bad happened to you?" She asked as the walked down the stairs. He stopped and turned to her, her eyes slightly damp.

"Yes, I'm fine. Is that why you wanted me to come over?" She shook her head, grabbed his hand and walked into the kitchen. Tea and coffee in their respective cups were waiting. Sugar, creme and milk were also waiting. Either this was going to be a long conversation or, she saw the weather outside and wanted to warm him up.

"I saw that it started to rain and that you probably had very bad cop-coffee all week. I couldn't remember what you like in your coffee so I left it out for you." He smiled and thanked her by kissing her on the cheek. She smiled, a light blush covered her face as she took the seat next to him. He mixed his coffee, took a sip and smiled at the wonderfulness that is good coffee.

"Why is it that they never have good coffee?" She laughed slightly.

"Probably because they don't know what it is." He laughed and took her hand in his, bringing her attention to him. His face was slightly serious, and she held his stare.

"Why did you ask me to come Lily?" She rolled her eyes and smiled.

"Is that it, god I thought you wanted a tough question answered." He cocked a brow and with her free hand she waved it off.

"I wanted you to sleep well tonight, since I know you don't sleep that well after cases. And I wanted to cuddle with you, I missed you. ALL of you~" He caught the second meaning, put down his coffee and pulled her up with his hands. He reconnected their hands and swept her off her feet bridal style. He carried her up to her their room, while she laughed the whole time.

Dropping her on the bed, his face mere millimeters away from hers, he smiled.

"I love you," He said, too aware that he had never said it before. Neither had she, then again, many things had happened since then. Her face red from laughing, changed to a red from blushing, still slightly panting from laughing.

"I love you too," She responded, closing the gap between their faces. Many noises, many words of love continued throughout that early morning.

When the next morning his phone went off, he went to grab it, to realize that she had already got it. Though he did not care (especially after last night) if people knew that he seeing someone, he did care about who was on the other end of that phone line. It would be unprofessional if it was his boss, or if it was Prentiss or JJ he would never hear the end of it. If it was Garcia, he wasn't sure what he would do. She smiled at his worry and answered phone ignored his silent requests of 'don't answer it'.

"Hello?" He wished he had super hearing to hear who it was. He stood up, all in his naked glory, and tried to get the phone from her.

"Yup, he's right here." She gave him the phone and attempted to get away, not wanting to let her get away without punishment, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close. She was tying not to laugh as he continued to talk to the person on the phone.

"So who is she?" He rolled his eyes.

"Someone who you might get to meet if you play nice." Prentiss laughed on her other side of the phone. Lily looked up and kissed him on the cheek. He smiled and kissed her back fully.

"I'll be in soon." He hung up and released Lily. She smiled and let him have the shower, he asked her if she want to join him. She laughed.

"If I did, you would never get to work~" He smiled again and went it. She waited, and decided to get his clothes ready for him. So she did. Once he was done, she kissed him and went in. He saw that she had taken out some clothes for him and smiled. He got dressed and waited for her downstairs, make a small breakfast for the two of them.

"You're going to be even more late if you don't leave now."

"I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye." He kissed her, pulling her closer to his body. When they broke apart their smiles were identical.

"Goodbye."

"Have a good day at work."

"When my days start out like this, they will always be good days." Still smiling, and slightly blushing she waved him off as he sped off to work. She remembered the fight, and she remembered the night that had just passed. She left the door frame and hunted down her cell phone.

Once found she sent he a text. Not a long one, but one that he would understand.

'I will always choose you'

It wasn't long before he sent one back.

'As will I.'

She smiled and got ready for work. Today would be a good day.

[And so it seemed that everyday after that one, would be too.]
