Home again

I am home, taking a break from typing up some book notes. The sky outside my dad's room is a pretty pink layered with blues.
It rained all day- just as the meteorologists predicted and I stayed home, watched tv and ate a lot of food.

After arriving at the Martinez amtrak station, my dad and I went to Safeway to get some milk cereal and I felt so overjoyed to be in the Safeway.. the layout is completely different than the one at the marketplace and I couldn't help comparing the two in my mind- and even though they are about the same size, mine feels bigger.
A cop was in the parking lot when my dad and I were done and it was weird, but the place was absolutely dead- at 10 pm. I felt like I was in Davis still but I wasn't though in many ways Pleasant Hill is similar to Davis.

I want to take a walk in Hidden Lakes Park, go to Sunvalley Mall, check out the new Frys in Concord. I want to visit my old high school and sit on the benches overlooking the duck pond at DVC.

I want to feel like I still belong but each time I start to feel comfortable, I remember that I have one more year at Davis and hopefully, I will be able to find work- a job that will prevent me from running back here.
