Election, GRE, NaNo

Everyone else is posting about the election, so I felt like I should too.

It seems very novel to me to be happy about the results of an election.  This year I actually kinda gave a damn about who one... and he DID.  I think there was really a very big difference this  year for a very large portion of America that, for once in a very long while, we got to vote for someone we WANT for president, rather than voting against the one we didn't want.
"What's this?  Obama is evolving!   Obama became President!"

Also, I totally hope they run a Zamboni over that map in NY so people can go skating over a map of the U.S.

For those who are curious, I did well on my GRE.  1340.  Worse than my SAT was, but still good.  I'm particularly happy that my math score was so good when I was only able to finish 20 out of 28 questions in time.  I'm a little confused about the fact that I encountered two verbal sections.  I mean, there was the writing, then there was the verbal section, then there was the quantitative section, THEN the were another verbal section.
Is that normal?

I've finally reached the word count goal for... one day in my NaNo novel (and a portion of that is notes to myself about who the characters are, and a random blurb wherein a cucumber discusses his lineage).  I seriously don't think I have the oomph to write three or so pages a day, especially for something where there is little pre-planning.  (Although, I suppose a small part of it just has to do with I don't know my characters very well, and I've been kinda isolated lately).
I did realize tonight that my basic plot premise is held in common with a Star Trek episode (involving Worf.  There's a cloud of alternate Enterprises at the end.)  Go figure.
Anyways.... At the very least I'll push harder than I have before and actually make a half-assed attempt at it.  I think I'll be happy if I can get a fifth of the target word count on the actual story...
