Retail Hell, the story continues

Last night was not as bad or evil at the store as the night before had been.
We still had plenty of customers but they were not nearly as rude or demanding. Maybe they knew that had waited too long and if we were out of things, will so be it.

The cash/wrap looked like a dumping ground for Goodwill. People would bring things up to the register and decide they didn't want it. So the "go back" pile was enormous. By 9PM that night, when it was my task to undertake putting it back it seems like it was the size of an elephant. As I walked around the store putting items away I found just as much out of place within the store itself. Apparently it doesn't matter that you leave the wine glass from the opposite corner of the store abandoned in the cast iron skill section. It was also obvious parents let their children pick up what ever they hands could reach, carry it around the store and then when the parent discovers the arms full of treasures they take the items away from their thieving children and dump the pile on the nearest empty space. The bight side, I really learned the store. My feet were not as tickled by the adventure. We have cement floors and even the best Dansco shoes didn't make it any softer.

It took over an hour for the asst manager to ring out the 4 registers. At 11:10 I signed out. We walked together to my car in the garage and then I drove him to his car a few blocks away (where you can find free all day parking in Pasadena). I got home near 11 and I think turned out my light about 12:30 AM.

I reset my clock for 6:30 AM and didn't get out of bed until 7:10. I stumbled out of bed and actually made it to work by 8:30.
We have been told we can leave at 1:00 today. WOO HOO. I am beating my cheeks out of here!

Happy Holidays Everybody.
