Holdiays - Schmolidays
Did I tell you about my 2nd job at Sur La Table (a cooking supply store here in Pasadena.)?
The job has been great fun until Sunday. My sense of humor is gone about the holidays. Last night there were only 3 of us scheduled in the store and by 9PM we were all beat to a pulp. Sad! Really SAD. I love humanity, it's people I can't stand. If you have worked in the public arena you know what I am talking about.
People being miffed because we didn't have a box to fit their crappy little coffee cup. HELLO!!! PEOPLE, it's the freaking 22nd of DECEMBER. Your lack of planning is not my emergency. For Pete's Sake. My second favorite was the lady that disappointed that we were out of the Star of David cookie cutters. (sigh) They will be great stories, some day.
Anyway. I have one more night and then am off for 3 days. BOY do I need it.
I should add up the hours I have worked but don't want to, I may fall asleep if I know the truth. It's probably around 68 for last week. YIKES I DO need a nap.
I went into my little office at home and was stunned that it is a total disaster. No really. A category 5 hurricane, at least, went through it. I hope to get it cleaned up so I can some work done in there again. I didn't get all of my holiday items made this year so I think I will start in January for next December. That way I know they will be done.
Just got back from In N Out for lunch with my troops. We normally go on Thursdays but because of the holiday and they will let us OUT early tomorrow we decided to enjoy it today. The weather was amazing. Not too HOT, not too COLD.... as Baby Bear would say, "It was JUST RIGHT". I wanted to pull up a chair and a book and just sit in the sun.
Well, now I have to kill 4 hours before I go to my other job. Guess I better get back to work.
