This is the cutest thing EVER! LOL at Kris being all indignant over non-Easter Peeps! I actually thought of you and our Peeps conversation in the grocery store the other day when I saw blue and purple bunnies.
I smiled like a loon through this whole thing and laughed out loud quite a few times. And this line: This boy. This boy is his heart. Well, that one might've made me tear up the tiniest bit because it's just so simple and beautiful.
Now for the whole truth - I love Peeps for nostalgia purposes. They were in my Easter basket every year as a kid, just like the jelly beans, just because they were supposed to be there. But I never ate them (or the jelly beans, for that matter; pretty sure they were slipped in there for my dad, BY my dad lol), because I actually agree with Adam here - they're kinda nasty! But, I loved them anyway, because I played with them. Which made me really sticky, btw. I think it would be awesome to stage, like, a football game between different colors of Peeps. Or, perhaps a musical. I'm thinking West Side Story.
I'm rambling! Thank you for writing this, it's even more completely charming and sweet than I imagined it. You deserve Cadbury Creme Eggs for this. Not the original ones; they're kinda freaky. The caramel ones. You made my day bb *tacklehugs you*

I know what you mean about Peeps nostalgia. I can't stand the way they taste, but it wouldn't be Easter without them. When I was growing up, my brother loved them, so I could usually negotiate a good trade, lol. Now, I always put them in my daughter's basket--classic chicks, of course.
Have you considered putting a coat of acrylic on your Peeps? This would cut down on the stickiness and the possibility of ants.
Cadbury Creme Eggs--adore them! Especially the original ones, although I concede that they are a little icky when you think about it.
