Sometimes, Kris swears he's human, and is determined to find out why that particular angel is following him of all people.

Five months after Adam had to leave, Kris was finally begining to heal. He got out of the house to do more than just work, and actually seemed to thoroughly enjoy doing things agan. Five months after Adam left, Kris met Johnny, the guy he would marry three yeras later. They were in love. Johnny was Kris's world-but not his life.
One year after they got married, they adopted their first child, a boy named Thomas. Kris was happy to know that Adam had been right; he was a good dad. In his opinion, he and Johnny were some of the best parents out there, and they ended up adopting another boy, Chaz, and a girl, Chelsea.
Kris was truly happy. He had a great career, an amazing husband and three kids that were as perfectg as anyone could be. Still, he felt like something was missing. Something was missing, and Kris knew exactly what-or, more appropriately, who-it was.
Now, Johnny and Kris were only a couple months away from celebrating their fiftieth anniversary. It was official; Kris was old. Like, ancient. He could feel it more and more every day as his strength slowly disappeared. He knew he was dying, but that was fine with him. All in all, he had lived a great life. No, he didn't want to leave Johnny, the kids or his four grandchildren, but it was going to happen eventually, and even though they would miss him, they would move on.
One night, Kris was exhausted, so he went to bed early. It seemed like only a minute later that he was woken by someone calling his name. At first, he ignored it, but the voice became louder until he finally slowly opened his eyes. What he saw shocked him. Adam was standing right above him, smiling. The shock passed quickly though, and Kris smiled back, sitting up. He was still in his and Johnny's bedroom, but it was different. He felt young. There wasn't a pain in his body, and all of the exhaustion that had been building up was gone.
Hopeful, Kris looked down at his wrinkled hands, except they weren't wrinkled anymore. Smiling, he looked back at Adam. Adam was still smiling at him too.
"I told you I'd be back," he said, gently taking Kris's hand. Kris stood, then walked side-by-side with Adam into the light. The forever that he had been waiting on since seventeen years old had finally come to him.
