That was delightful and delicious and decadent. I loved many things about it, the katy point of view, the dialogue, the way you set the scene and the classic build-up. I wanted to stay in the world you created for a lot longer than 6000 words, enjoying its charm and gossip and intrigue. (And werent conversations more intelligent back then...). I could almost suspect you of being a part of the french aristos of new orleans, not just because of your knowledge of the tangibles, but because your fiction is so layered and sensual, and thats how i imagine that world to be.
