Title: Another Day (25/30)
Pairing: Kradam AU
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Kris walked a few blocks up Market Street and turned into the side alley where he would sleep that night as he had so many nights. Sometimes, if he made enough money he would sleep in one of the flop houses. They were usually pretty awful but a lot better than being on the street. He sat on his bedroll next to the others who shared his alley, or was it he who shared theirs. It didn’t matter.

The door bell rang. Megan jumped up. “That’s for me!”
Four heads turned in her direction. Kris dried his hands, Adam got up. They all followed her to the door, but stood back several feet not sure if they should intrude. She looked through the peep hole then pulled the door open.
“Hi, Michael. Come in.”
Adam and Kris looked at each other. “Michael? Dr. Chapman?”
“You remember Dr. Chapman, um, Michael.”
“Hi everyone. I see you’re rather surprised to see me. I guess Megan didn’t tell you. Megan?”
“Surprise!” She threw the word toward Kris and Adam.
Kris found his voice first. “So are you two going out? Of course, you are more than welcome to come in and stay, Dr., eh, Michael.”
“We’re going out.” Megan was clear they were not staying.
There was no joking around this time like there was with Danny. They were caught off guard by this. They liked him. There was no issue there. He was accepting of all of them, and he seemed like a very nice person. Brent really liked him, which helped Adam like him even more.
Brent walked to his mother and reached up to her. “Bye, Mommy.”
“Good bye, Sweetie. I’ll come in and kiss you when I get home.” She set him back down and he went right back to his computer. Allison was hanging onto Kris and didn’t say anything. “Well, see you all later.” She took Michael by the hand and walked out the door.
“Humph. Didn’t see that coming. Why didn’t she tell us?” Kris pushed the door the rest of the way closed and threw the dead bolt.
“She probably didn’t want us to try to talk her out of it. We might have. He’s the one in his profession. He should know the rules better than we do. If seeing someone one time for testing purposes isn’t against his rules, then I guess we should be okay with it too. But I do think we should flat out ask him if he should refer Brent to someone else for the follow ups every month.”
“I agree. We should definitely ask. Kris turned and put his hands on Adam’s butt. “I was going to take you to bed early, but now we will be watching the kids for a while.”
Adam moved Kris’ hands. “We should watch how,” he leaned to Kris’ ear, “sexual, we are in front of the kids. Brent is so bright, he will pick up on it, and Allison is old enough to pick up on it. So, let’s cool it a little.”
“Can I still kiss you?” Kris said with a smirk knowing well what the answer would be.
“You bet, Baby. Gimme lips.” Their kiss deepened but they soon turned their attention to the children.

“That was an interesting movie. It was good. The title seemed to fit wonderfully . . . Eat Pray Love. I loooove Julia Roberts.” Megan was sipping her drink at the bar they stopped into near the movie theater.
“I actually read the book when it came out a few years ago. Wow, I think it’s been five years already. The book is really good too.”
“I didn’t know there was a book. Maybe I’ll pick it up.”
“I think I still have it. If you let me take you out again, I’ll bring it along and give it to you.” Michael was smiling at her. “Can I take you out again? I really enjoy your company.”
“I don’t see any reason why not, but can we talk? I think I should get to know you. You know just about everything about me.”
“Sure. I was raised in Texas, but after college I realized that there was a big world outside the Lone Star State, away from football, hunting and all that macho stuff. I was more interested in people than sports. My dad was almost disappointed when I told him I wanted to go to grad school and become a therapist. I understood though. We’re still pretty close. Mom too, close I mean. I go home for major holidays, usually. I was married once. It didn’t last too long. We were really young and neither of us was ready for the kind of relationship that marriage is. I don’t regret it. I learned a lot about myself.” Megan just looked at him. “I don’t have any children. I’ll be thirty in March. I love what I do. I love working with super bright children and adults. It’s very stimulating. I feel like I’m really learning to understand intelligence at that level.”
“You light up when you talk about it.” Megan was smiling again.
“I guess I do. I feel it. I really do love what I do. I earn a good living. I live in an apartment in the City. I thought about moving after the earthquake but never did.”
“You don’t have your own house then?” Megan was very curious about this point.
“No. Still saving up. I’m still paying off student loans also. My family doesn’t have a lot of money. I worked my way through school and got some loans. I’ve only been practicing five years, so I have plenty of time.”
“Five years? You’re twenty-nine. I’m not super intelligent but I can add. Did you graduate from high school when you were fifteen?”
Michael smiled and blushed a little. “Sixteen. I got through undergrad in three years and grad school in two, then I had to do a year’s internship. And, here I am, in practice for five years.”
“So, you are one of those super intelligent people.” Megan leaned forward, chin on hand.
“I suppose so, but my scores aren’t as high as Brent’s, or Adam’s. Mine are high enough that I can really appreciate what they have. I’m fascinated by it. I guess that’s obvious or I wouldn’t have specialized in it. I’m also glad I did because I met you.”
“Why, Dr. Chapman. You’re such a charmer. Are you trying to turn my head?”
“I haven’t heard that expression since I was a kid in Texas. I guess Utah is pretty home spun, down to earth too. And, yes, I guess I am. It’s after midnight. I probably should take you home. Knowing Kris and Adam, they’re probably pacing the floor by now. They really love you. I love how protective they are . . . just enough without crossing a line.”
“We have a deal. If I’m going to be really late, or out all night, I call Adam and let him know.”
“Really, I would have thought you’d call Kris.”
“Adam can go right back to sleep. Kris doesn’t hear the phone. He’s a very sound sleeper, and besides he wouldn’t go back to sleep. He’d be the one pacing the floor.” Megan smiling thinking about how sweet Kris is.
“So, have you made those kinds of calls very often? I’m sorry. That was none of my business.”
“No, it’s none of your business, and no, I’ve never made that call. Not yet.” She smiled at him sweetly. Michael smiled and stood. He reached out a hand to Megan. She took it as they walked to his car. When they got to Megan’s little house, in the back driveway. He turned the motor and walked around to the passenger side of the car. He walked her to the door.
“I had a great time. Thank you.” He smiled and leaned to her lips. It was a soft gentle kiss that said ‘thank you’ not more. When he pulled back slightly, Megan was smiling.
“Would you like to come in for some coffee?”
“No, but I’d like to come in. But maybe we should wait until next time.” Megan was certain the kids would be in their rooms in the big house. That was always the case when Megan was out.
“This is our first date. I like you, a lot. And, I don’t want to move too fast. But, I’d really like to revisit that kiss.”
Michael smiled and took her in his arms. He was as tall as she, slender, fit. Megan could feel his strength as he held her, gently but firmly. He kissed her. She couldn’t remember ever having been kissed like that. She was getting lost in it, losing her resolve, leaning into him, kissing him more deeply.
“Whoa, we better slow down if you don’t want to move too fast.” Michael had her shoulders and pushed her back a little.
“You’re right. Thanks. You are one great kisser.” Michael chuckled.
“Thanks. So are you. Good night, Megan. I’ll call you, soon.”
“I’ll look forward to it.” She fished in her purse for the house key and put it in the lock. “Oh by the way, I should have warned you. Sometimes when I go out they make me take a body guard, if it’s someplace really public. People often recognize me because of Adam and Kris and even more so now because of Brent. I live with three famous men.” She smiled hoping that wouldn’t put him off.
“Well, then I suggest someplace that isn’t public.” He kissed her again. A full three minutes later, Michael was adjusting his pants as he walked to his car. He turned by the door and waved. He said ‘good night’ very softly.

At breakfast Adam and Kris were both dying to know how Megan’s date had gone. She was getting the kids fed and ready for school, and smiling, a lot.
“Megan, you’re killing us. So . . . what happened?”
“Nothing happened. We saw a movie, had a drink, one drink, and came home.”
“That’s it? You’re sure smiling a lot.” Kris was egging her on and really wanted to know that she was okay. After the Danny thing he wanted to be more attentive to her feelings.
“Okay guys. I had a great time. He’s really nice. He’s super intelligent too. But, he’s just down to earth and kind and sweet and home spun and . . .” Megan was staring into space remembering their conversation from the night before.
Kris snapped his fingers. “Megan? Snap out of it. Okay he’s a really nice person. That’s all I need to know. I just wanted to be sure you’re okay, that’s all.”
“Bull. You want to know if I . . . you know.” The kids were in the den. She spoke very softly. “We did not have sex, okay? But I will tell you, he’s a great kisser, a really great kisser.”
Adam chuckled this time. “That’s very important, Meg. Believe me.” He looked at Kris like he wanted to eat him up. “Kris, we better go get dressed. We have to be at the studio by ten.”
“It’s only eight . . . oh, of course. We’d better get up stairs.” They all giggled as Adam and Kris practically skipped through the walkway and bounced up the stairs.
Someday that will be me. Megan went to help the kids get ready for school

“We don’t have long.”
“I know, so why aren’t you naked.”
In seconds, he was.
“There, naked.” He looked down at himself. “And, hard, so hard. You can make me harder. Get over here.”
“I’m right here.” He jumped on the bed and onto his lover. “Right here, Baby. About that hard on, let me see what I can do.” He kissed him, and kissed him, hard and passionately. His husband was harder, hard as granite. Then his mouth was on the delicious cock that twitched in anticipation.
“Mmmm, Baby. That feels so good. More, more.” He got more. As he was sucking and stroking, he put two fingers inside his mouth as he continued, slicking them with spit, then he put those dripping fingers into his lover’s body and bent them at just the right place, just the right angle. “OHHHHHHH . . . god, ohhhh, yes.” He slowed down only hitting his sweet spot with ever other stroke of his fingers. “Noooo, don’t slow down. Pleeeease, Baby, I’m begging you.” His mouth didn’t slow down. His head bobbed up and down with hands on his head and hips thrusting up into his mouth. He bent knees gave him leverage to thrust up. It also made his ass move with the fingers inside. “Yes, there, yes, yeeessssss!” He came hard down the gorgeous throat that continued to suck down every drop his lover had.
After a few moments the tables were turned, places switched, the other mouth on the other delicious cock, fingers in the other man’s body. “Oh yes! Oh my god yes!! Faster, please, Baby. So turned on, almost there, almost, theeerrrrreeeeee!!!!!” Come was swallowed and swallowed as he tortured the sensitive dick with his tongue, and continued to stroke him inside.
All of this happened in less than twenty minutes. Both men lay spent, wrapped together. “Do you think we’ll ever get tired of doing this?”
“Nope, not a chance.” They smiled at each other and kissed sweetly sharing remnants of come, and lots of love.

“I can’t believe how long it’s been since we’ve gotten together. Honestly, we can’t wait this long.”
“We aren’t the ones who were out of town on tour. We aren’t the famous rock stars.” Matt was smiling. “I’m just glad you had time for us now.”
“Indeed. You two are very difficult to catch up with.” Jere was holding his martini glass in the air, sipping.
“Okay. Point taken. Now tell us all about what you’ve been doing. Sean, how’s the art world these days?” Adam was genuinely missing their friends. They had seen more of Earl and Jere when they were setting up the foundation, but most of it was done by phone and Internet.
“It’s all good, Adam. Thanks.” He was holding Matt’s hand and still looking at him with admiration and love.
“Well, how about, how is married life? You two seem very happy.” Kris was truly happy for Matt, and really glad things were going well for them. Down deep he had a little concern that their relationship might not work out. He hoped he would be wrong.
“I love it.” Matt stared at Sean. That’s all he had to say apparently.
“That’s it?”
“Well what do you want to know? You tell me. How is married life?” Matt was smiling knowing it was an impossible question to answer.
Kris looked at him and smiled back. “I love it.”
“You certainly loved it this morning.” Adam winked at Matt and squeezed Kris’ hand.
“Adam! Are we now discussing our sex life?”
“No, but I can’t ignore the fact that I’m married to the hottest man on the planet.” He leaned to Kris, who was sitting next to him, and kissed him sweetly.
“Aww, thank you, Baby. Truth is I am married to the hottest man on the planet.” Adam got a kiss.
“Okay, you two are making me a little ill.” Earl smiled at them. “The truth is it just gets better, right Jere?” He looked back at Adam. “When you’re in love, it just gets better and better, even after ten years.”
“Almost eleven.” Jere added.
“Yes, Dear. Almost eleven.” They looked at each other affectionately. Not with hot passion, not with burning desire, but with comfort and confidence. The kind of feelings that being together for so long generate.
“Aww. You two are so cute. I look forward to ten years with Kris, and twenty and thirty and . . .” Now there was a look of steaming hot passion passing between them.
“Settle down, boys. I think we better change the subject. Adam, that is the most gorgeous necklace. The design is fantastic. May I ask where you got it?”
“Of course, Earl. We went back to the little jewelry store in the Castro on the anniversary of the day we got our rings. I saw it there. Doug still owns the place. He’s really a nice guy. You should throw him some business. His designs are amazing.”
“I can see that.”
“We still go there too, Earl. We had Doug make our rings as well.” Matt and Sean stuck their left hands across the table at the same moment. They all laughed.
“I never really thought about it before, but I notice that you two aren’t wearing rings.” Adam was looking back and forth between Earl and Jere.
“Well, true. We don’t want rings.”
“Really?” Kris was stunned. “Why on earth not, I mean if that isn’t too nosey. I didn’t mean to pry.”
“Its okay, Kris. A long time ago we knew a lot of couples who were getting matching rings, having ceremonies and all of that. Then they all started breaking up. One died leaving the other one completely devastated and a mess for a long time. It felt like some kind of jinx to get rings. We decided if we never got rings, we would never break up or lose each other. It seems silly these days. We have so many good friends who are together and very happy… with rings. It’s just how we felt back then.”
Adam knew Jere’s previous partner had died of AIDS years ago. He wondered if that was who Earl was referring to. “It must be terrible to lose your partner to death. I can’t imagine. I don’t even want to think about it. I would die myself, if . . .” He couldn’t finish the sentence.
Matt rescued them. “Let’s go back to talking about sex!! A much happier topic. Sean, why don’t you tell them what our favorite position is?”
“What? You’re kidding right?” Everyone laughed again.
“Of course I’m kidding. Don’t you dare tell them!” Matt was blushing even though he started it.
“What? You don’t want them to know you like to get fucked while standing on you head!”
“Sean! Stop that. We’re in a nice restaurant.”
“So? Come here.” Sean pulled Matt into a passionate kiss right there at the table.
“If you do that again, we’re leaving.” Matt was dizzy from the kiss that took his breath away.
“If you do that again, we’re all leaving!!” Adam laughed and kissed Kris.
Earl leaned to Jere. “I love you, my dear. Would you like to go home and stand on your head?”
“Sounds like a reasonable alternative to kissing in public. Should we take turns standing on our heads?” The four younger men were doubled over with laughter. A half hour later they were all on their way home. All horny as hell.
Adam’s phone rang on their way home in the black Mustang. They had decided to risk it without body guards since there would be six of them at dinner. A few people stared but they were left alone.
He looked at the caller ID briefly. ‘Meg’ “Hello, Meg? You okay?”
“Yes, I was just wondering when you two are going to be home.”
“In about twenty minutes or so. Why? This is a very strange phone call for you to make at this hour. What’s going on?”
“Um, nothing really, just, I’m in the big house. I put the kids to bed here. When you get home call me, okay.”
“Megan?” Adam never called her that. “Is Michael with you? Do you want, um, privacy?”
“Am I that easy to read?”
“It’s not a big leap, Honey. We’ll call when we get home. Meg, don’t get upset with my asking this, but do you have condoms?”
“Oh! Oh my god. I don’t know. I didn’t think . . . I’m sure he does. Maybe. What should I do?”
“Go to our room and get one, or a few, from the drawer in the bathroom, bottom drawer on the right. We haven’t used them for a while now. Take what you want to. I think there’s some lube in there too, just in case.”
“Thanks, Adam. God, I feel like I’m having a sex talk with my dad or something.”
“I’ve met your dad, remember? No way would he tell you this. Now go get the supplies, put them in your room while you leave Michael to sweat in the living room. Make yourself beautiful and smell pretty. When we get home, we’ll send Michael your way. Okay.”
“Okay. Thanks again. Adam, you’re the best. It’s been a long time, and, you know.”
“You’ll be fine, Honey. It’s just like riding a bike. It will all come back to you and I’m sure Michael will be wonderful. Now go!”
“Alright, bye. Tell Kris, I . . . never mind. Don’t tell Kris.”
“Are you kidding? He’s right here listening. He knows. Don’t worry about Kris either, just go have fun, but do be safe, okay? I’m sure you couldn’t possibly have anything, but you don’t know if he sleeps around, or if he has been tested for anything, so just play it safe, no matter what he tells you. Even if he says he’s had a vasectomy. This isn’t about getting pregnant; it’s about not getting a disease.”
“Got it, Dad. Really, thank you. I was getting pretty caught up in the moment and I’m glad you weren’t home and I’m glad we talked. I love you so much.”
“We both love you. Now we are only about ten minutes out, so you’d better get moving! Good bye.”
“Bye!”
“So, our little girl is growing up, Kris.”
“I could tell. You were great. Thanks for taking good care of her.”
“She’s going to do it, so she may as well be prepared, and safe. Michael seems very level headed. I’ll bet he’s prepared. How long have they been dating? About a month? I’m surprised they held out this long. I actually thought they probably had sex and Megan just didn’t want to share.”
“Me too. It makes me a little queasy though. I was pretty drunk that night, but I still remember the trauma.”
“Trauma? What do you mean?”
“Of being with a girl! Ick. Man, I never wanted to repeat that experience.”
“You’re too funny. You never have to, so, don’t worry about it.”
“You don’t know, Adam. You’ve never had sex with a girl. Have you? You never said anything, so I assumed you didn’t.”
“No, I haven’t, not exactly. I mean there was sex involved but I didn’t put it in her. There was one girl in high school. She thought I was hot and she wanted to make out under the bleachers after a game. She really wanted me to fuck her, in a big way. I just couldn’t, wouldn’t, well, couldn’t. I mean I couldn’t get it up. There was just nothing there. She pushed me onto the ground and started stroking me though my clothes. I closed my eyes and pretended she was a guy. By that time I wanted to get off, but not in her, you know. She ended up giving me a blow job. That was it. She followed me around school for a bit, then we graduated and I moved away. Honestly, I don’t remember her name. I know what you mean about the ick moment. There was no way I was going to do that. I’d already been with guys by then. A girl was soooo not appealing in any way. I kept telling her I was gay and she kept saying she didn’t care.”
“That’s kind of funny because I kept telling Megan I was gay too, for weeks before that dance. She still wanted to go together and back then in Arkansas there was no way I could go with a guy, so. Well, you know the rest.”
“Here we are.” Adam pulled the Mustang into the garage at the side of the big house. “You ready?”
“I guess so. I’m a little creeped out, but that’s okay. I’ll be fine. I mean she had sex with Scott, that’s clear.” Adam laughed.
“God you are too funny. Let’s go in.”
Adam put the code in the front door that would permit his key to go in the lock. They both heard the dead bolt retract. Kris took a deep breath as they went into the living room. Kris heard his piano being played. It wasn’t a hard and fast rule, but no one played his piano but him, and Allison when she was having lessons. It was Michael. He was playing from the sheet music on the stand, a song Kris was writing. It wasn’t finished. Kris didn’t know whether to be angry or really pleased. The song sounded wonderful. He’d never heard anyone else play it.
Michel heard them come in and stood up. “Hi guys. I hope you don’t mind my playing your piano. It sure is beautiful.”
“You play very well.”
“Thanks. The song was in pencil, so I guess one of you is writing it. I love it. It’s a beautiful melody. It reminds me of a time when, well, never mind.”
“Kris is the song writer in the family. I dabble in it, but he’s really good. He wrote all the music on his album and a lot on mine. We wrote some of it together. Hey, listen, we’re keeping you from, um, Megan. She’s waiting for you.”
“Thank you both. Good night.” Michael turned and headed through the kitchen and den, to the walkway, to Megan.
Adam put his arms around Kris. “That was nice, Baby. I know how you feel about people playing your piano.”
“It’s nice to know he’s musically talented. He plays very well. If he ends up hanging around us it will be nice that we share that. It was okay. It really was. I loved hearing that song. In fact I think he gave me the title I’ve been searching for.”
“Yeah? What?”
“I need to see how the words I’ve written so far work with it, but I think it will be just perfect. A Time When. It’s amazing how he felt that from the melody. The song is about remembering back to another time when two lovers were together. So, it’s perfect.
“That’s great, Baby. I can’t wait to hear it. All your songs are brilliant and wonderful. Let’s go check on the kids and then I might want you to stand on your head.” Adam smiled and took Kris’ hand.
“What? I can’t have sex when Megan is, oh, no, that’s just wrong.”
“Now listen to me, Kris Allen. Megan might have sex more frequently, maybe a lot, and that’s not going to stop us from having sex. Nothing is. Now get your adorable fuckable self up those stairs, now!”
“Oh, yes, Baby. I love it when you’re bossy.”
They kissed their sleeping children before going to their room.
***
“You seem so apprehensive. We don’t have to do this.” Michael kissed Megan sweetly to reassure her. “We can wait, really. It’s up to you.”
“Oh, Michael, I’m just. It’s been a long time and I really like you, and I want to, and . . . I don’t know what.”
They were still in the den of the little house, sitting on the couch, kind of wrapped up in each other, talking, kissing.
“Let’s talk about it. What’s bothering you down deep? I get the feeling you’re a little afraid of something. Am I close?” He picked up her hand and kissed her palm, then treaded his fingers though hers.
“Well, this is what I get for dating a shrink, I guess.” She chuckled. “You’re not only close, you hit it right on the head. My ex husband cheated on me. It hurt me so much that I went a little crazy I think. I’m not proud of this, but I left my children with Adam and Kris and . . . just left. I was gone for weeks. They were worried, the children suffered and I felt guilty as hell. I was gone so long I felt like the children would be better off without me. I was just really mixed up, but mostly I didn’t know how to deal with being so hurt. I felt hopeless, and helpless, I guess. Fortunately Adam and Kris found me brought me home, into their home and their hearts. The kids and I have been with them since. I love them and I can’t imagine leaving here. Part of me wants to have my own life and part of me is terrified of that because . . .” Megan looked away, down at her lap.
“If you fell in love you might want to leave here?”
“You are pretty smart. Yes, I don’t want to be hurt again, and I don’t want to leave here. I don’t know how having a relationship would fit in with my life with my family. And just so you know now, I would never change my name again. Shit. That reminds me, I am going to change my name, one more time. Now that Brent is a Lambert, I don’t have to keep the McIntire. Anyway, honestly, I really like you, I’m dying to make love with you, and I’m terrified.”
Michael looked at her and smiled. “Megan you are beautiful and kind. You are a great mom and, I like you, a lot. I could easily fall for you. I haven’t felt anywhere close to this for a lot of years. Why don’t we take this one step at a time, let go of fears and enjoy each other. We can’t resolve your issues or mine, not tonight. What we can do tonight is make sweet love to each other and just see what happens after that. As to the cheating part, I guess there are never guarantees about anything, but I can’t imagine that anyone who keeps open, honest communication in a relationship doing that. When there’s cheating there are real issues behind it in the marriage or relationship. You know me well enough already to know that I’m honest about how I feel. Now, you tell me honestly. Do you want me to leave now? I will, and I’ll call you tomorrow, or I won’t call again. If you need more time, or if you never want to do this, it’s okay either way. It’s up to you.”
Megan just sat there. She studied Michael’s green eyes with gold flecks in them. She took his hand, stood up and led him to her bedroom.
