Title: All That Glitters Is Gold [4/?]
Author: Farmerbob2020
Pairing: Kradam (will be having hot sex in the future)
Rating: PG for now but it will get dirtier.
Summary: Kris is is gay and Adam is a narrow channel of water connecting two larger bodies of water, a.k.a a strait. Wait, I mean he is the opposite of gay, which would be strait.

A/N: Kris' sexiness will pick up in the next chapter :) I have some good stuff planned!

Adam saw a blur of plaid flying towards him at what had to be a million miles an hour. He had never played sports, but Kris collided with him with what Adam assumed to be the strength of a linebacker. Adam’s breath left his lungs with a whoosh and it took him a second to recover enough to return the embrace.

“Ummm… I missed you too?”

Kris looked up at Adam and blushed furiously. He mumbled some sort of an apology, but must not have been too sorry because his arms were still wrapped around Adam.

“Don’t worry about it. I like a good hug…or in this case, I a good tackle.” He pulled away and noticed that Kris’ face fell a little. “Let’s go meet up with everyone else.”

They were all standing in the lobby waiting to get put into performing groups and given temporary room assignments. The Top 12 would be moving somewhere else when the time came and then they could pick their roommate. Adam genuinely liked everyone he had met thus far, so he would be happy with whomever. However, if he was being honest with himself, he hoped he and Kris would get paired up. He couldn’t put his finger on it but there was just something he was attracted to in the younger man. Adam was in line to check in next, and as if some higher power was reading his mind, the lady told him he would be performing in group three and rooming with Kris Allen. Adam turned around and was blinded by Kris’ one hundred watt smile. Kris’ happiness was contagious and Adam could not help returning a smile of the same intensity.

The next two weeks flew by. They were constantly busy, always being shuffled from rehearsals to the studio and then to god knows where else. And Adam loved it. This is the life he had always dreamed of and he thrived in the chaos. When the Group Three performance night finally came, Adam knocked his song out of the park. When he made it to the Top 12, he knocked the encore even farther out of the park. Plus, Kris and Allison, the high-energy fire-haired teenager who they had basically adopted, made it through. Adam was on could nine. Nothing could bring him down.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A week later, Adam was staring at the biggest mansion he had ever laid his eyes on. It made sense for 13 people to live in, but seriously, why would anyone ever build something this big? Actually, take that back, because if Adam survived this, he was going to build a house this big.

“Whoever built this must have a really small dick.”

That caught Adam’s attention. He turned around to gawk at Kris Allen, who was smirking at catching Adam off-guard. Kris really shouldn’t be taking so much joy in this because he was constantly surprising Adam.

“Well, he has to be compensating for something, right?”

Adam could only shake his head in disbelief.

“What? You know you were thinking the same thing! I dare you to tell me otherwise.” Kris folded his arms across his chest and narrowed his eyes.

“I really wasn’t. I was actually thinking about how I want a house like this someday.”

“Dude, I think your…” Kris gestured in the general region, “speaks for itself. A big house would just be overkill” Kris started towards the front door. “C’mon! What are we waiting for?

Was Kris for real? Because Adam wasn’t sure anymore. He hoped Kris was because, to be honest, Adam could not get enough of him, even after three solid weeks together. Which reminded him of what he had been meaning to ask Kris. Adam broke into a run to catch up.

“Kris! Wait I have a question!”

“Yea? Shoot.”

“Do you want to continue to room together?”

Kris grabbed Adam’s hands and was basically bouncing up and down like a kid who was just asked if he wanted to go out for ice cream. “OH MY GOD! YES!”

Adam tried to stifle his laughs, but he couldn’t help doubling over in hysterical laughter.

Kris blushed a deep crimson and dropped Adam’s hands like hot potatoes. “Oh jeez.” He was mumbling and Adam could barely hear him. “I am just so fucking gay sometimes.”

Adam caught that part. “Wait. Are you? Not that there is anything wrong with that…I just wasn’t expecting…” Kris managed to turn redder, which Adam didn’t think was humanly possible. “I should just shut up now. However, in all seriousness, it’s totally cool.”

“Do you still want to room together? I get it if you don’t…” Kris was struggling to put coherent phrases together.

Adam put a hand on Kris’ shoulder. “I said it was cool. Besides, I’m engaged. Who makes a move on a soon-to-be married man?” Adam started genuinely laughing again, but it was much shorter that his last fit of giggles. The whole thing became less funny when he noticed the flash of guilt on Kris’ face.
