Warnings: some dark elements, some angst, spn crossover
Summary: "And for the first time in three weeks Adam feels it. Hope."
Author's Notes: so this is a supernatural crossover right? well i wanna elaborate on that some more. it's really a spn crossover cause im just using the world that is being portrayed in the show. and what i think the world will be like if a certain something happens in the show and the full blown apocalypse happens. so dean and sam's appearances won't be a lot. just wanted to elaborate on that a little more. also, to the few of you actually reading/following this-THANK YOU! comments are much appreciated :)

http://community.livejournal.com/kradam_ai/1212255.html#cutid1 “Kris, do you even know where we’re going?!” Adam shouts.
When Kris only waves a hand over his shoulder Adam grumbles under his breath. Neither one of them knows which direction they’re going, haven’t known for a few hours now when they figured out they were going in circles after passing the same tree four times, and it all resulted in Kris getting angry and stomping off several feet ahead.
“Kris!” Adam shouts again and stops. He’s not going to follow Kris around if all they’re going to do is be angry at each other and keep getting lost. “This is stupid! We’re just going in circles again! So stop!”
“Just shut up, Adam!” Kris yells. He whirls around and Adam can see the glare set on Kris’s dirty face. “We’re going the right way.”
Adam rolls his eyes. “How do you know?” he asks smartly, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Because-“ Kris hesitates, looks around him. “Because we haven’t gone this way yet! That’s how,” he replies, and then he turns back around and keeps walking.
Adam doesn’t follow. Instead he stands there and watches Kris walk around, stop, look around him, then go in another direction. It is pretty amusing for a while, until he trips and goes sprawling, a puff of dirt the only evidence he was even there a moment ago. “Kris!” Adam shouts. He jogs over to where Kris fell, a little freaked out.
“Oww,” Kris moans.
Adam stops at the edge of the-well he’s not entirely sure what it is. It looks like it used to be a small pond, maybe, all dried up now. Kris rolls onto his back and, groaning, gives Adam his best pathetic expression. Adam rolls his eyes, but holds a hand out and helps Kris up. “What hurts?” he asks while dusting Kris off.
“My ass,” Kris whines. Adam tries his hardest not to laugh. “Shut up.” He steps out of the hole, holding onto Adam’s hand so he doesn’t fall again. The blush is already coloring Kris’s face.
“Really, though, are you okay?” Adam ducks down so he’s eye to eye with Kris.
“I’m good, really.” Kris smiles and shrugs.
Adam’s gaze narrows as he continues to stare at Kris. Then he looks Kris over one more time, nods to himself, and tugs Kris into a tight hug. “Good,” he mutters. They stand there for a moment, silent, until eventually Kris mentions they should get moving so they can find somewhere to stay.
Adam wants to believe that tonight they will find somewhere to stay opposed to the past couple of nights where they had practically nothing to shelter them. He wants to believe that they will be fine and this life will grow on them, they’ll get accustomed to it and learn how to survive in world that’s broken.
But for now he just can’t.

“Have you ever thought about getting married again?” Adam asks quietly.
Kris shifts around and sighs, tucking his head under Adam’s chin comfortably. He’s been dreading this question since the divorce. But this is Adam and Adam knows how he feels about being committed to one person, whether a ring is involved or not. “I don’t know. We both know how it worked out with Katy,” he snorts out sarcastically.
Adam laughs and threads his fingers through the hair at the base of Kris’s neck. “But you guys were together for seven years before you popped the question. So you can’t say it was a rushed thing. And...” It’s Adam’s turn to sigh as he stares up at the ceiling, afraid to even finish that sentence.
“And what?” Kris tilts his head back, pressing a kiss into the underside of Adam’s jaw. “Adam?”
“I don’t know. You guys got married young.” Adam shrugs. “Didn’t really get out there and see…see what was waiting for you.”
Kris moves so he’s on his elbow propped over Adam. “I know that. Why do you think once I met you I started having doubts about my own damn marriage? We hadn’t even been married a year, I met you, and then, well, things changed. People changed.” He smiles, slow and lazy, before rolling onto his back and grabbing Adam’s hand.
“Sorry,” Adam says after a stretch of silence.
“Stop feeling guilty, Adam, fuck.” Kris sits up, letting go of Adam’s hand. “It isn’t your fault Katy and I split, you know that. It’s been two years. Shouldn’t you be over it by now?”
Kris doesn’t have to look to know that Adam is gaping at him in shock. “Fine.” The bed shifts and then Adam is padding across the room into the bathroom. The door slams a moment later, leaving Kris feeling guilty and a bit angry at the same time.
When the door finally opens half an hour later Kris is sprawled on his back on the mattress, and Adam is walking out fully dressed in black and grey. Kris watches him grab a leather jacket from the closet, stuff his feet in a pair of boots, and head for the bedroom door.
“I’ll be back later. Don’t wait up,” Adam says nonchalantly without looking at Kris. Kris is off the bed like a shot before Adam can even open the door.
“Wait, Adam, don’t leave.” Kris wraps his hand tightly around Adam’s wrist. “Please?”
Adam is tense, Kris can tell by the way his shoulders are squared and his hands are clenched into fists.
“You can’t blame me for still feeling guilty, Kris. If you hadn’t met me, then maybe you two would still be together and happy.”
“Adam!” Kris tugs until Adam faces him, but he won’t look at Kris. So instead Kris grabs his face and kisses him rough and a little forceful. “I am happy. Even without you Katy and I wouldn’t have made it. We did marry too young. But trust me, you’re my best friend, have been since day one, and I love you-“
“Hush,” Adam says quickly, then turns around and pins Kris against the wall.
Grinning, Kris stands on his toes, wrapping his arms around Adam’s neck. “Now, how about you get undressed and we spend the rest of the day in bed?”
“Sounds like a plan.”

When Adam trips over a rock and ends up sprawled face first on the dirt he stays there. It’s getting close to nighttime and the air is getting colder, but he doesn’t care. He’s tired of walking. “Kris, lay down here with me,” he whines and rolls onto his back.
Kris frowns down at Adam. “We should keep going. It’s almost dark,” he reminds Adam. Adam rolls his eyes.
“Just…just fuck it all.” Adam hopes it comes off as jokingly, like he wants, even though deep down inside he’s serious as can be. It’s been close to three weeks now. They walked or ran for a majority of that. They’ve hidden behind rocks and in abandoned buildings. They’ve come close to death several times.
He wants to give up. But he won’t. For Kris’s sake at least.
Kris kicks the bottom of Adam’s shoe. “Come on, Adam. I don’t want a repeat of the other night.” Kris kicks him again.
It’s then that Adam decides to open his eyes and look up at Kris. And it’s then that he sees something looming big and dark just to Kris’s left. “Kris, what is that?” Adam points but makes no real move to get up. For all he knows it could be a mirage or just another abandoned building. Kris shrugs, not really paying attention. He shrugs, too, and forgets about it.
Kris kicks his shoes once again. “Come on, let’s go.” He holds a hand out for Adam to take, then pulls him to his feet. But Adam’s eyes are drawn back to the figure. While Kris starts walking Adam stands there and stares.
It’s a wall and it’s big. It looks like a plain grey wall, with a few cracks here and there that show how old it might be. He wants to shrug it off, but there’s something about it that makes him stay there and stare curiously. The image isn’t shimmering or glittery like a mirage would be, and it certainly isn’t going away when he blinks.
“Adam?” Kris comes up beside him; hand on his lower back like he’s going to make Adam move.
Adam ignores Kris and moves towards the wall. Even though it’s several feet away, the closer he gets the more he can make out shapes etched into the surface of the all. Not painted on, not drawn on, actually carved into the wall, shadows making the dips and curves look more menacing in the growing darkness. The harder he looks the more he sees that those are symbols.
Realization dawns on him, then. The useless map leading to a place surrounded by symbols, Sam and Dean talking about Safe Haven, the past four days of he and Kris walking around in circles. This is it, he thinks suddenly. “Kris! Get over here!” Adam doesn’t wait for Kris. He takes off running, ignoring Kris shouting his name.
Heart racing, Adam touches one of the symbols; the stone is smooth to the touch. Suddenly a slot in the wall opens up, revealing a pair of dark eyes. Adam jumps back, startled.
“Who are you?”
Adam swallows hard just as Kris stops behind him, panting and spluttering out obscenities. “Is this, uh, is this Safe Haven?” Adam asks cautiously. The voice speaks up, telling him that yes this is Safe Haven. Adam could cry hearing that one sentence. Kris gasps, grabbing Adam’s forearm and digging his nails in. “We need somewhere to stay. Someone told us about this place and we’ve been looking for it for four days now.”
The voice says nothing, but those eyes disappear and the slot closes. For a moment Adam panics, thinking that they’re going to get stranded out here once again. But then, just a few feet down, part of the wall opens up and low light spills out. Adam drags Kris to the space and then he’s ducking down and walking through. He and Kris are ushered in fast and the door closes behind them with a quiet snick.
And for the first time in three weeks Adam feels it. Hope.
