Trying to catch up
Quite a busy month, since at the beginning Monty had to leave because of a family emergency which leaves me on my own. I've written down a lot of stuff but haven't gotten around to typing it up, will try and get onto that soon.
A nice holiday weekend here with Gill's daughter + partner coming down to spend the weekend before heading off leaving their dog Molly here with us. So she's in the kitchen during the day keeping Joseph company while at night she's in with me on her nice comfy bed.
A nice day weather wise with the days being nice and hot and as the weather man says, "whoosh" at night with temperatures dropping down to 5 Celsius from a high of 20 during the day. This makes for interesting clothing layers with being bundled up to my ears as I go out at 6am to slowly losing layers as I walk everyone around 9am until at noon it is down to summer clothing and sweating. Then as soon as the sun drops the sweaters and jacket have to come back on again as I jump around to keep warm. It is like two separate seasons in so many few hours!
All the dogs have settled into the routine finally (more on the havoc of the last few weeks later on), but Orchid continues to be a problem of where can you keep her, and how do we stop her from barking her head off ALL DAY LONG, and most of the night as well. You would not think there were that many dogs here since none of them bark, but now...her and Lino can start up a choir in the mornings. Makes me wonder what the valley thinks of us up in the hill since I'm sure it echoes down and up into Scotland.
Gill is thinking of taking me to the Beatrix Potter house down on Windermere which sounds lovely but it will take some organizing since either Anna would have to take care of the dogs for an entire day or we do it when Monty is here. Monty is coming back when Darcy's pups are born but then that's a very busy time, gah! Another place we are looking at is Alnwick Castle, which the Harry Potter films were shot. This also sounds good but would be a bit more expensive so might wait and go see it when the parents come over.
Gotta run since it's now 3pm and time to start the dogs again in the brilliant sunshine!
