Last Book Read: in part: Confrontations With The Reaper, by Fred Feldman. in whole: Flowers for Algernon (though that was a reread, the last whole new book may well have been Soldier Son by Robin Hobb)
Last Live Music Show Seen: The Decemberists at Toad's Place in New Haven, October 6th.
Last CD Purchased: Decemberists, Picaresque (after making sure they're non-RIAA)
Last Thing Cooked: If microwaving food is a form of cooking, Chicken Chile Verde Burrito (from TJ's), if not, French Toast and Egg, scrambled, with sausage. Yes, I cooked sausage. Damn was it tasty. :)
Last New Thing Eaten: New in terms of animal? Yak. New in terms of new dish, the quiche-like creation at the New Year's party.
Last Thing Bought: 1 bottle champagne, cheap variety.
Last Gift Received: The Logic of Collective Action, by Mancur Olson, and Mansfield Park by Jane Austen.
Last Piece of Clothing Bought or Received as a Gift: Underwear and socks. When I forgot to pack them. Yes, it was a pretty embarassing moment.
Last Embarrassing Experience: IMing doxasticpirate saying "Hooray I'm done with my paper!" only in order to hear him go "I'm almost done" to which I, having spent much time writing, replied unwittingly "Wow, and here I thought I was the only shmuck handing in the paper after midnight when it was due the prior day." I felt bad pretty quickly. Thankfully, I seem to have been forgiven.
Last Totally New Experience: Going on a date with a 30 year old woman. It somehow seems more significant than "Talking to my mother while my mother was in a foreign country" which is the other possible candidate.
Last Foreign Country Visited, if any: None in 2005. Of any year, Israel, in January of 2000.
Last New Bird Seen: Um, I'm not awake during hours in which I could see birds. I don't know what other thing to substitute for 'bird' either. Perhaps poker hand? In that case, it's ace-ten, suited of mine, in which I beat ace-jack off-suit, when I spiked a ten. It made me $50.
Last Big Achievement: Submitting a story for publication. First prose I've ever had the stones to send off. Now I just have to wait to see if it gets accepted.
