Hey everyone.....DON'T READ THIS IF YOU'RE A BIT SQUEAMISH
about 2 weeks ago, my mother-in-law had a historectomy, it was a bit more complicated than it should have been because of some (possibly pre-cancerous)growths making everything compacted into the area where it should have been free floating...anyway, she's really lucky she didnt walk out of the surgery with a colostomy bag....
well, she had been doing fine, recovering well, well enough to come along to the reenactment last weekend and even camp the whole weekend.....
thursday night, Meag and i got home from choir rehearsal at about 9:30 or so, went upstairs to get to bed, and meags mom was in bed, asking meag to come into her room....she had a fever of about 100.9 or so, horrible pain in her abdomen, and felt like she was going to vomit, we gave her some tylenol and some water, and checked on her throughout the night, the fever went down about 2am or so, so we went to sleep,
friday morning i got ready for work, and checked on her before i left...she sad she felt ok, not in as much pain, but she still felt sick....
about 10am, meag emailed me saying that her aunt drove her mom to the doctor.....half an hour later she said they took her to the hospital......
they did tests on her all day, CAT scans, x-rays, and whatever other fun tests they might have done...
i left work about 1:30 or so to be home with meag in case we needed to go up to the hospital....
finally found out what was going on at about 7pm....
she had an obstructed bowel, it was an abcess(sp?)?, obstructing her bowel, very infected, causing the fever(it was up again by the time she went to the doctor), and causing tons of pain,
so now she's on antibiotics, morphine, and who knows what else,
she'll be in the hospital for a while.....
anyway....the point of this post.....
any of you who pray, even if you dont, please pray for my mother in law, or send good vibes, good thoughts, positive energy, whatever....in the words of the lost boys in Hook....tink hapee tawts.....
