Ok, so we went to a Civil War reenactment this weekend. It was in a city called Elmira. On top of a mountain.
the weather was shitty, rainy and cold all weekend. I'm really glad we got a hotel room instead of trying to camp(Molly is a little too small to expose to cold rainy nights of camping just yet). but, being on top of a mountain, we were basically inside a cloud the whole time. saturday night a few of us were sitting at the monument on top of the mountain(commemorating the brave and valiant white men who slaughtered a bunch of filthy uncivilized savage native american women and children back in the 1700's)we saw a cloud moving toward us. a wall of fog surrounded us, it was so thick we couldnt see more than 5 feet in front of us. walking back to camp, all we could see was the outlines of people and tents, and an eery red glow here and there from the campfires........man was it kickass.....
want to see some good pictures of the weekend? go to
http://baumanphotos.photoreflect.comlook at the Newton Battlefield Event Pictures, group 3 has a few pics of me and molly, especially one good one of me kissing molly on the forehead.....unfortunately you cant see the quality of the photo on the website(the photographer came and found me on sunday and showed me the pictures, now i need to save my pennies and buy a few prints of them so i can save some and send some to family)
i did get an awesome workout this weekend....lots of walking to get firewood, fill water buckets, and a good mile hike to get 20lbs of potatoes, 15lbs of onions, 5lbs of apples, and some miscellaneous other stuff, followed by the mile(uphill) hike back to the campsite
it feels great to have my girls home again....i missed them so much'
that is all
back to work go i
peace
