001 [open-action]

His nose twitches. There was the distinct lack of ocean spray in the air. For that matter, there was a distinct lack of motion indicating he was still aboard his vessel as well. Startled eyes open wide and it so happens to be a stone ceiling staring back at him instead of the open sky. The first thought to run through his mind was - jailed.

Again.

There's a woman in the hallway, attention focused on the book in her hand while she steadily paces along. Late night wandering was always a way to make her relax, to take the edge off the day passed and compile her thoughts in general.

Bottle of alcohol in her free hand, Vie lifts the bottle to her lips and in doing so, notices Jack at the other end of the hall. She pauses.

"Something the matter?"

Oh! A familiar face. Things can't be all that bad then! Well they can be, but hopefully not that bad.

Jack straightens and sheaths the blade, taking a direct approach to William's wife.

"Elizabeth!" He opens his arms in a greeting, even if he's not going to hug her- it's the thought that counts right? "Something so happens is the matter. Could you be a lass and spare me a moment of your time? And tell me what, exactly, is going on here?"

He makes a gesture back to the room he woke up in, " One moment I was asleep on me'ship, well not my ship, or not the ship that is mine but yet again- stolen, but the ship I am borrowing, but enough of that. I was asleep one moment, and the next I wake up, well, here."

He stops in front of her.

"Care to explain?"

Vie watches him approach, remaining where she stands and frowning when he calls her by a different name. She marks her page and snaps the book shut, listening to the babble that spills from his lips.

"You're new then, aren't you? In the room you awoke in there should be a book with your name on it. Inside is a letter answering the bulk of what you've just asked."

She pauses a moment to look at him, frown deepening a fraction.

"And I fear you are mistaken. I am not Elizabeth, nor do I know who she is."

Jack looks from Elizabeth, to the room he came out of and back again. The look of disbelief is apparent.

"The book. " Looks back to the room, and gestures with his head, " That, in there, will answer all of the questions I just asked you, eh?"

He peers at her.

"Elizabeth Turner, what are you playing at? Is this is some kind of, joke? Of course you're you. " He gestures to all of her that is standing in front of him, "Who else would you be?"

Vie sighs. This won't be the first time that she's forced to explain she's not who they think she is. Hopefully Jack won't react like Kevas did.

"Chelle Vierren. You may call me Vie. As I said, I'm not Elizabeth, no matter how you insist I am."

Nodding to his door, she moves to pass him, intent on getting the book and the letter for herself if he will not.

"Chelle Vierren? Where'd you come up with that one?" Something else occurs to him then, and he places a hand on her shoulder as she passes him in familiarity of knowing that is Elizabeth Turner he is talking to. He leans in and talks in her ear in a conspiratorial whisper, "We're not hiding out, are we? Is that what all of this is about? Are they listening in on us right now?"

Sorry Liz, he didn't mean to blow your cover.

The hand on her shoulder earns a stern look before she shrugs him off. "I didn't come up with it. My parents did."

And then she stops, realizing that this man isn't about to believe her word without further evidence. When he leans in, Vie does as well. "Yes, they are. It would do you well to listen to what I'm saying."

There's a slightly dangerous look in her eye. "Now do not touch me and let me get the letter."

He looks disappointed and confused when Liz shrugs his hand off.

"Huh?"

Eyebrows go up and a grin quirks on the corners of his mouth as Elizabeth explains his guess is right. Of course it would be right. It's only logical, given the illogical nature of the situation.

"Well, love, you only had to say so in the first place. Lead the way."

Though the threat has him removing his hand from her person, like he had been touching a poisonous snake. Still frightening, that one. Maybe she's having a bit of an off day? Jack follows behind curiously, he lists a bit in his swagger.

She's a little annoyed that a second time, someone has mistaken her for someone else. Vie stalks off down the hall, footsteps a little heavier than usual but her overall movement is still delicate and fluid. There's certainly something inhuman about her.

"My name is Vie. Use it. And it would do you well to introduce yourself."

She stops at the doors, looking back at him. "Which door?"

Jack looks at Vie in disbelief. He was hurt.

"I'm Capt'n Jack Sparrow." How could you forget THAT? Oh. Wait. Part of the plan, " Capt'n of the Black Pearl ." Pause." Well, was. Am! If it wasn't for Barbossa, he took it again, you know... Uh?"

He looks at the doors in the hallway. Well there's the one that's open, " That one th're."

At the look on his face, she lets her anger slide. Her expression softens a little before she steps inside the room. It doesn't take Vie long to find what she's after.

Returning to the hallway, she walks to the pirate and passes him both letter and book. "There, Jack. Read that. And please understand that I am not Elizabeth, or anyone you know."

Jack looks at Elizabeth and then the book before he takes the proffered object in his hands and turns it over giving it a quick eyeball.

He looks up again and offers her a patent Jack smile. Part of the plan. Right.

"Thank you, dove. I'll be sure to keep that in mind." He nose scrunches as he tries out the new not!Elizabeth name, " Vie?"

The pet names worry her. She figures it's just part of his character, though she can't help but wonder what his relationship was with this 'Elizabeth' and just how he's going to react when the truth finally sinks in.

"Yes, Vie."

Thoughts of Kevas run through her mind, and how broken he was when she revealed she was not the Vie he knew. Try as she might to keep it from her face, her eyes deceive her.

"Just... read. Please."

Eyebrows in a confused expression, he turns the book over again and cracks it open to read. He looks up at Elizabeth and notes the concern, it can't all be that bad! Can it?

While he reads he talks it out also.

"Guest, eh?" Not bloody likely. " What... ontological.. what does that even mean? I nev'r heard of it. Rubbish. "

The more he reads the more the look of disbelief deepens.

"Hasn't existed? What kind of poppy-cock is this on about? Of course it all existed, else we wouldn't be here. Right? "

He looks up at Turner's wife, there might be a bit of worry in his expression, " Right?"

He continues to read and finally shuts the book, " Well this was less than helpful. This was supposed to explain everything? It explained nothing! Who is this man? How did we all come to get here? Eliza-Vie, what really is going on here?"

See? He remembered the plan!

Go on Jack. Tell her she's someone's wife. Just imagine the reaction that would come from it.

"Lord Deior of Holloway's Keep, where you and I and a few others are right now. This is not the world you came from, nor is it where I come from."

She's tired, Jack. Vie's not really up for explaining all of this, but she'll do her best. "As for how we got here, I cannot say. The fact is that we are, and that home and your ship, good Captain, will not be seen for some time."

An eyebrow arches up, "More of us, eh? The crew as well?"

His own expression softens a bit, he catches your tiredness Elizabeth. What have you been doing since he's been gone? "That's okay. Not much different from normal, I suspect. Hector stole the Pearl, I left for ... north." Oops, almost slipped that one up! He looks to Vie and back to the book in his hand.

"You don't believe any of this wish-wash, do you now?"
