To Bring It Back Part 2

Practice didn't go as smoothly as it should have. There was something off with -Jinki's still trying to make sense of it- the both of them today. He would fumble with his words and forget the lyrics, while Jessica in turn even ended up almost seemingly clawing at her vocal chords just to reach the highest note of the whole piece. When the song ended again for the nth time, the both of them had purposely collapsed on the floor, obviously exhausted. An awkward silence ensued, the atmosphere dense and heavy as Jinki tried to balance it on his shoulders.

A long, discontent sigh escapes her lips as she breaks the silence, her back slumping with disappointment. "Today isn't really working out for the both of us. Why don't we just call it a day and practice again tomorrow?"

His immediate response would've been to nod grimly and stay silent, but his heart suddenly gets the best of him, ending up with him bursting out a loud "NO!" that echoed in the practice room. She stares back at him in disbelief, and his mind turns blank at the moment out of panic.

"W-what I m-mean to s-say is that," he swallows hard as he tries not choke on his saliva, "we should practice a l-little bit more. I-it's a b-bit too e-early to s-stop now."

Jessica cocks up an eyebrow at him, but ends up smiling anyway. God, how he loves that smile. "Fine," she says in agreement before standing up and extending her hand out to him. He takes it gratefully.

Their hands touch, and Jinki finds himself completely overwhelmed by the spark that sent currents rushing through his veins. It's just like before- back when they were still together, when they were still a couple.

When they still had that magic between them.

But then again, maybe it never left in the first place.

By the time he's completely back on his feet, Jinki notices the flush on Jessica's face from the contact. Something spreads across his chest, and he smiles inwardly at the familiar sensation of hope in his body.

Maybe. Maybe she felt it too.

There is silence again, but not exactly the awkward type. He notices her swallow and avert her gaze to the abandoned song lyrics on the floor, the crimson red tint on her cheeks becoming increasingly obvious.

"We should start now," she starts breathlessly and as she was about to turn around, a hand lightly held her wrist.

Jinki has 2 choices: whether to chicken out and just pretend this never happened, or try- to win her back again, to bring their love back, to bring the magic back. And though as much as he loves poultry, the first option doesn't seem to appeal to him this time around.

He brings his face closer to her, and though Jessica looks completely taken aback by his soon-to-be action, she doesn't move away. His insides are clamouring with joy.

Just a little bit closer.

Their lips touch, and Jinki feels like flying.

P.S. oh my gosh i'm so sorry about this. ;~; this turned out worse than i expected. i hope you can forgive me for this oTL
