I'm sorry for the lateness--I've been sick lately, and I'm sorry for making Taemin a complete brat ;;
“Hyuung~”
The long, suffering groan was not at all loud, but enough to distract Kibum away from his laptop. Taking off his glasses, he went to the room at the corner and found Taemin lying awake, his forehead sheened with sweat. The younger boy had gone down with fever since the night before, having overexerted himself with hours of outdoor shooting in the middle of the winter.
“You’re awake?” He asked, placing the back of his palm on Taemin’s forehead. “How come your fever is not going down, Taemin-ah?” He sighed.
“I’m thirsty hyung. Where’s my juice?” Taemin moaned.
Kibum frowned. “Minho is out buying it. Wait a moment, okay?” He took his phone and quickly texted his bandmate.
Yah, where are you? Taemin is asking for his juice!
“Why don’t you drink some water first, Tae-ah?” Kibum coaxed, while pouring some lemon infused water he prepared earlier into a glass. Just as he was going to help Taemin to drink, his phone beeped. Kibum groaned in frustration and put the glass back on the nightstand.
“HYUNG, JONGHYUN HYUNG, COME HERE!” He shouted, while checking up his phone.
It was Minho. I swear to God Kibum, it’s not easy to find fresh pineapple in the middle of the winter. Wait, okay?
Tell that to Taemin! He replied fumingly, and put the phone back.
“YAH, JONGHYUN HYUNG!!”
It took a minute for Jonghyun to arrive, his hair wild, and there was headphone dangling dangerously around his neck. “What happened? Is Taemin okay?”
“He’s thirsty.” Kibum replied flatly. “Can you help him with the water?”
“Can’t you do it? I’m in the middle of coming up with a chorus--” Jonghyun paused when Kibum eyed him dangerously. “Alright, I’ll bring my laptop here later so I can watch over him.”
Kibum suddenly felt guilty. He was aware that Jonghyun was meeting a deadline with his composition, and the least he needed at the moment was distraction. But Kibum too, had to finish his assignment if he wanted to pass his course. The professor had been lenient enough to allow him to work on a take-home assignment in exchange to a test he missed, and Kibum planned not to waste the chance he was given.
“Thank you, Hyung. I still need to work on my paper. I promise you can return to your room as soon as Jinki hyung or Minho return.”
“I’m back.”
Kibum looked up and sighed in relief as soon as he saw Minho, plastic bags in his hands. Kibum stood up and helped him with the bags while he took his coats off.
“Where did you get the pineapple in the end?” Kibum asked Minho, while carrying the bags to the kitchen to prepare the juice Taemin asked.
“Hongdae. Near the station.”
“Hongdae? That far?”
Minho gave him the look, "Seriously, Kibum, what time do you think this is?"
Kibum didn't reply. He didn't know the exact time, but he was sure it was late. His exhaustion told him so.
"I'm sorry. You should rest--"
"Hyuuuung~"
"Jonghyun-ah!" Kibum shouted back. He dumped the chopped pineapple into the blender in frustration. The noise Jonghyun made as he rushed to answer Taemin’s call was drowned inside the whirring noise of the food processor.

Jinki arrived somewhere around midnight, his hair disheveled and he was sweating despite the fact that it was late winter. Kibum was barely able to open his eyes--the hours of running errands had taken its toll on him--if it wasn’t due to the fragrant scent of honey chicken that Jinki brought.
“Thank God you’re home. I was considering to abandon this place and just drive home if it takes you any longer.” Kibum said, only half jokingly.
“Sorry for being late. I tried to rush as soon as the shooting ended, but the queue at the chicken place was longer than I expected.”
Kibum shook his head, his exhaustion had left him incapable of getting annoyed. Besides, it wasn’t Jinki’s fault at all. “Can you fetch Minho and Jong, hyung? None of us had eaten anything since lunch.”
Jinki nodded and left Kibum to prepare the meal. The sight and smell of food made his stomach growled, but he chose to wait. Minho and Jonghyun both came to the kitchen lethargically, Jinki ushered behind them, and dragged the chairs out with their eyes half closed. They ate in silence, too busy shoveling rice into their mouths to talk.
It was Jonghyun, who was in perpetual diet and already finished his rice allowance, who broke the silence around the table.
“Next time,” He gulped the water exasperatedly. “Let’s not allowed Taemin to get sick.”
The reply came in unison, irrational it was, in an unanimous if slightly incomprehensible, “Yeah, let’s not…”
