Assumptions

“…Are you sure about this?” Shinwoo was never one to bite his nails, but his right index finger was looking particularly tasty at the moment. “I’ve never done this before.”

“I am, trust me,” Gongchan soothed the other. “Do you think that I’d ask you to do something that I never have? He knew that this was making a big jump in their relationship, but he knew that he could catch him in the fall-well, if they fell, that was.

Despite the younger’s words, Shinwoo chomped even harder on his nail. Sure, he was alluring when he promised to take him to a place he’s never been, and who could resist those eager puppy-dog eyes. He’d never been led astray before, being just so damned trusting and when Gongchan said that he’d take him to new heights, he jumped at the chance.

He didn’t realize that it’d be so uncomfortable, no matter how much he liked being so close. They had finally connected in a physical way, one that they had never tried before. Gongchan had made his intentions known, through coy glances and embarrassed blushes, and when Shinwoo finally got the hint (even if Baro had to point out the obvious), he knew it would be paradise.

“On three, okay?”
Shinwoo shook his head wildly. “I don’t know if I’m ready for this!”
“Now or never,” Gongchan urged. “I promise you’ll love it. You’ll be okay.”
“Promise?” Shinwoo asked, his voice shaky.
“Promise promise. And if you don’t, you can hate me forever.”

He knew that he could never do that, but he nodded.

“One…two…,” Gongchan counted quietly. “Three!”

Shinwoo felt the floor fall away beneath him as they catapulted into dizzying space, strange and euphoric and beautiful, all at once.
He wouldn’t hate him forever, not even for a nanosecond. They fell to the ground, Shinwoo toppling over, overcome with exhilaration. Gongchan laughed softly in his ear.

“See? I was right. I told you you’d like skydiving.”
