Hyungshik is the absolute worst type of rich kid, as far as Dongjun is concerned. He's spoiled, he doesn't like doing anything physically demanding and he expects everyone to baby him. It's problematic when Hyungshik's job is to help the others with cleaning and maintenance on the cruise. Kevin usually gives Hyungshik the lightest workload, but even then, the people he's working with end up doing both their own share of the job and his as well. Dongjun is usually this unfortunate soul. He realises that it's not Hyungshik's fault that he's rich and Dongjun doesn't want to dislike him.
He just does.
But really, "swabbing the deck" is bad enough, Dongjun thinks without having to do it by himself. Hyungshik just leans against the wall, moving only when Dongjun is mopping the area around him. The worst part is that Hyungshik still gets all his pay, despite doing absolutely nothing.
"Are you just going to stand there?" Dongjun asks, scrubbing especially agressively as he nears Hyungshik. He can never sound as mean as he wants to, so he speaks through his actions instead.
"You seem to be doing a very good job." Hyungshik shrugs. "Keep it up!"
Dongjun represses the urge to use his mop as a weapon and instead turns on his heel and walks away, neatly mopping around Heechul as he passes with a passenger's luggage. He makes it all the way to the end of the passageway before he hears a crash and a yelp, causing him to look back.
Hyungshik is lying on the floor, clutching his mop, while Heechul stands over him with the luggage. It's fairly clear that Heechul just knocked him over, but Hyungshik is acting like he's dying. Unfortunately for him, Heechul isn't the sort to fawn over the rich kid, unlike Kevin. So Heechul walks away, leaving Hyungshik where he is. Dongjun sighs and walks back.
"Do you need a hand?" he asks, extending a hand to Hyungshik.
Hyungshik looks surprised at the offer and he takes the hand allowing Dongjun to pull him up. "Thanks... did you see that?!"
"Yes." Dongjun picks up Hyungshik's mop and shoves it back into his hands. "And it wouldn't have happened if you would do some work."
Hyungshik looks at the mop, then hesitantly starts scrubbing at the floor right in front of him. He doesn't move from there until Dongjun huffs and stabs him with a mop handle, at which point he takes a few steps forward. "Hey, no need to push!"
"We're all earning our keep here. You should too." Dongjun smiled. "We let you slack off so far, but we won't anymore."
"You're younger than me," Hyungshik says grumpily, taking another step forward when Dongjun brandishes his mop.
Dongjun smiles more widely. "No, but on this ship, I'm your sunbae. Swab that deck!"
He just does.
