"It's not actually acting if it's not pretend, right?"
"I don't know," Youngmin says with a shrug. "Isn't it the same thing? And why are you thinking about such philosophical things."
This gives Donghyun an idea and he sets out to find Jungmin. He then has to sit through five minutes of Korean proverbs that Jungmin regurgitates from high school before Kwangmin walks by and Donghyun cuts Jungmin off halfway to escape.
"Is this about Minwoo?" Kwangmin asks Donghyun is dragging as far away as Jungmin as he can.
Donghyun pushes him abruptly into a corner, a hand clamped tightly on his mouth. "...No," he says lamely and Youngmin pulls the hand off his mouth.
"Hyung thinks he's prettier than a girl!"
"It's true though."
Kwangmin looks pensive. "You should tell him."
"I did."
A sigh. "That was when you were acting."
Donghyun sighs even louder, because this is exactly the problem. "But I wasn't."
There's a rustle of sound next to them and a door creaks open to reveal Minwoo, eyes wide.
"Hi," Kwangmin says awkwardly and Donghyun wants to die. No wait, needs to die.
It takes Donghyun two days before he can look Minwoo in the eyes again and when they're finally in the studio, waiting for their turn in the recording room that Donghyun reminds himself again that he's twenty-one and not twelve that he turns to Minwoo and speaks:
"I could be your boyfriend," Donghyun says, sing-song and Minwoo cringes.
"This is the most unoriginal confession someone in the group could come up with," he says, but it's with a smile.
It works though, because this leads up to a date at that exact cafe in Hongdae, where they drink espresso with bears drawn in foam and chocolate syrup and all Donghyun can think about is how pretty Minwoo is - far prettier than any girl he's ever seen (yes, even prettier than Sistar) and how he would really like to kiss Minwoo.
Minwoo leads over their coffee and puts Donghyun out of his misery.
