‘Mission failed’ was flashing in Junghwan’s mind as he pushed open an empty room in their agency building. The hyungs were off composing in another room, and he wasn’t really one for thinking of catchy tunes and flowery words. All he wanted to do was sing.
And so he did. He plugged the noraebang machine in and punched in random. He grimaced when it set to Genie and pressed next.
He sighed, relieved, when it set to Because I am a Common Man. Yesss, depressed music time, he thought, belting out the first few verses lowly.
“Noreul saranghago hanun - YAH!” he blurted when he opened his eyes and saw Chansik sitting right in front of him, jaw dropped and staring.
“Hyung, go on!” Chansik urged, waving his hands in the air. Junghwan continued, though hesitantly, but by the end of the song, he’s forgotten that Chansik was even there. He opened them to a single applause and couldn’t resist grinning.
“W-woah, hyung...” Chansik stuttered, leaning forward on his seat. “You were amazing!”
Junghwan just blushed, dropping down beside the machine and looking for more songs to sing. Mostly, he was just trying not to think about Chansik’s compliment too much.
“Hyung...” Chansik started, and Junghwan whipped his head around.
“Yeah?” he still couldn’t stop grinning.
“I really like you, you know?” Chansik said. His hands clutched to his seat desperately.
Junghwan stared at him, dumbfounded.
“I mean -“ he huffed and turned a bit pink, frowning at himself. “You know...I really like how you sing, and your face when you sing. Not that I don’t like your f-face all the time! It’s just that w-when you sing...it’s just...what do you call that? Really...expressive -“
Junghwan’s grin grew wide, and he laughed. Butterflies flew around in his stomach. “It’s alright! You don’t have to explain, I get it,” he said with a smile. You have no idea, he muttered in his mind. “I like you, too, Channie.”

This, anon. This. It's exactly what I'd been craving. I love that you used their twitter interactions (and that ETN Interview?), because that's really a huge part of why I ship them so much. ♡
I know this was Hwannie-focused, but Jinyoung's enthusiastic supportiveness and Sunwoo's unhelpful interjection really got me too. They're so cute in their own ways, and your portrayal of them wasn't off at all. Poor Dongwoo, I barely noticed him. ^^; oops.
Oh Hwannie, the way you wrote him, is really adorable and pretty much how I imagine him to be. Puppy love, one-sided (or is it~), trying to confess to oblivious Channie and having no success. At least he has the support of his leader. And he would cry watching Titanic, oh you silly man. At least the water bottle was an indirect kiss? I bet the 'mission failed' was red and neon too, for dramatic effect.
And Channie! So oblivious because he's so used to be loved on. At least, that's how I saw it? Too much skinship, not enough street sense when it comes to romance! Either way, the end was really adorable. Junghwan getting shocked out of singing! The stuttering! And desperate seat-grabbing! And the song would be Common Man, ah~
I can see them gradually building into something more, and oh geeze, anon, I'll just keep fangirling at you if you let me. This was wonderful.
I want to thank you again for this piece. I'm sorry about your personal problem (I hope that worked out.), and I'm really thankful that you wrote this anyway. So thank you again. I wish I could write you something in return, but my fandoms are so few. ♡

OMG ANON WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS MAKING ME FLAIL WITH SUCH A WONDERFUL COMMENT ♥ i love using news about them because they're pretty much qts everywhere, teeheehee ♥ i am too sleepy to reply to everything but yes yes yes ia with everything and lol my pleasure writing them and i'm working on my ~issues (lol) but it's no big deal, thanks for being so nice. ;A; sadly i don't even know what band l.joe is from (forgive me i am ignorant ;A;), but i'm sure that it was great fic and basically all i'm saying is i am full of joy that you enjoyed this and before my comment starts not to make sense i should sleep rn ♥
