It's not often that they get a day off. Today, nobody hangs around long enough to question it, scattering to the four winds as fast as they physically can. Only four of them return to the dorm.
Kwanghee goes straight back to bed, telling Siwan to wake him up in a few hours. When he agrees, the look they share is enough to make Kevin slightly uncomfortable to witness. Hyungshik doesn't notice, already digging around in the kitchen for food.
Kevin skypes with his family for an hour. When he closes the laptop, he can't settle. Homesickness settles into his chest, not enough to hurt but enough to distract. He wanders from his bedroom to the living room, picks up shoes and jackets and hats and returns them to the owners rooms. He tidies the rest of the communal spaces, the familiar actions bringing him back to himself slowly. Kevin realises he doesn't want to be alone right now.
Kwanghee's still asleep, his late-night schedules taking a serious toll. But the other two occupants of the dorm should be free for distraction.
Siwan and Hyungshik are sitting on Hyungshik's bed, sharing a pair of headphones. It looks startlingly intimate, and Kevin's feet carry him in before he realises it, a surge of jealousy nearly obliterating his home-sickness. Hyungshik looks up and grins, patting the bed beside him in a clear invitation.
Siwan looks between them and Kevin hopes what he's feeling doesn't show in his face.
"I'm going to go see if Kwanghee's awake." Siwan says, and eases himself off the bed with a wink sent Kevin's way. Kevin sits down and Hyungshik shifts closer, offering him a headphone. Kevin takes it. The sound of a full orchestra fill his head, and tension he hasn't realised he was holding is smoothed out. He leans back against the wall, closing his eyes.
Hyungshik scrunches down to rest his head on Kevin's shoulder. Kevin feels content.
At least until the other members arrive home in a flurry of activity and ruin all his earlier cleaning.
wow that wasn't very cute or even very happy. sorry anon! ):
