he finds out from chansung in the most brash way possible. chansung's face is grim as he tosses a newspaper at him. "kara got into a fucking accident."
wooyoung's heart drops to his stomach and for the two seconds he uses to skim the article, he can't breathe. "casualties?" he asks in a shaky voice, even though it's fucking right there, in bold print, regret to report that kara's lead dancer's injuries were deemed fatal...
chansung's mouth hardens. "hara," he spits out angrily. "fuck. it's just so - fuck," he shakes his head in sorrow, because he's upset because he's human, and this is a tragedy, and humans tend to be upset over tragedies.
wooyoung's not shaking his head. wooyoung's not upset.
it's much worse than that.
"when?" his voice manages to break through the choked up barrier of his throat and chansung's eyes are filled with pity, pity for the loss of a bright young life, not pity for the loss of his friend's girlfriend.
"couple days ago." chansung keeps talking after this, but wooyoung's brain shuts down, a couple of days ago hara was crying on the phone about the mess her group was in, sobbing that she didn't know what to do and "help me oppa, i can't - "
"that sucks," he says hollowly, hara's last words to him repeating over and over in his head, breaking his heart just a little bit more. "that - just - really sucks," he finishes lamely and his heart explodes because he can think of so many better things to say, to pay tribute to the girl he loved, because god he loved her. he really did.
chansung just nods before taking the paper from him and tossing it in the trash. "yeah. it really does."

this is just so well written, im speechless. i love the way you explains whats going on in the outside and whats going on inside wooyoung's mind. its just so heartbreaking and the way you write it is just mindblowing. i love you for writing this anon.
