often gd and top are written in fic as having a cats-and-dogs relationship where they fight regularly. i think this has a lot to do with their personalities. top is a lot more laid back and in-his-own-head type of person, whereas gd likes to have control over things down to the smallest detail. they both want things to be perfect, but gd's always been that way while it seems to have been a gradual realization for top. that would most likely bleed into their personal life, because while top says he doesn't get affected much by relationships and getting dumped, gd is described by his friends/people in yg family as being very emotional.

lately, though, i've been thinking a bit differently about how they would be together. they were friends in middle school and lost touch somewhere along the line before gd got top to join big bang. i think that now they have a really chill broham sort of relationship since they've known each other for so long. they hang out in the same group of friends during their off times and seem to have a lot of inside jokes with each other: if you see them interacting, they're usually laughing at/with each other, whispering things into each other's ears or making weird hand motions that the other members seem to ignore. for example, during the last big show bb had to do a bunch of girl group dances, and when top saw gd getting into it he gave him a "are you serious can we stop now what are you doing" look that made gd laugh and get so embarrassed he had to stop and sit down on the ground. gd wrote top a christmas/new year's letter that talked about how he wished top would speak to people first and be less shy, and that he worried about him sometimes, while at the same time when asked to describe top in magazine he often says that he's really cool.

they also share similar interests in fashion, interior design, music, etc. they don't fanservice that often, but idk, to me they just seem pretty comfortable. whenever they tried, like in the coffee prince parody/haru haru mv they broke down laughing a lot since they felt awkward doing it.

what i like about them is that i can never totally figure them out. you'd think that since gd's got such a personality he'd lead top around, but he'll look at top when he laughs or imitate him or tap him on the shoulder to grab his attention; conversely, top has the sort of zen approach to life that would be a great stabilizing influence for gd.
