I have, today seen the most amazing film I have ever seen and am likeley to ever see in my life. I saw Brokeback Mountain at 1:10pm this afternoon and I can tell you that it is as moving, as powerful, and as beautiful as I expected it would be. I went in with high expectations for hits film, which I have been counting down to for around 2 months now, and it went beyond them. It pushed past anything I have ever seen on screen before with incredible preformances from it's entire cast.
I am so very pleased to tell you that the cinema was packed! Hardly an empty seat! I cannot for the life of me understand why Hoyts and Greater Union have not opened this film on a larger scale. I cannot find rhyme, nor reason or method to this, very insulting madness.
I have sat here, at my computer, for the last 2 hours, trying to find the words that will help encourage people to go and see this movie. I have resigned myself to the fact that I cannot do this with words. I simply ask you to look at the image I have used in my icon (brush courtesy of hybrid-genesis.net) and tell you that this image summons up more emotion and feeling for me, than any book I have read, any song I have heard, and any person I have met.
