I just thought this was really great...
My brother's on a Pilgramage trip to Morocco, as some of you know, and they send on updates to the parents and my mom's been sending them on to me. My little brother...
Anyway, they had a much more restful day yesterday.
Sunday night they worshiped with us; we overflowed our
little worship space! Casey played the prelude on the
guitar. He had told me he was going to do some blues
improvisation; Lanny said that was fine or he could
play a classical piece. When he got up to play, he
said he had decided to play a classic -- The House of
the Rising Sun. (I think our definition of "classical"
and Casey's definition of "classic" sort of passed
like skew lines...) I think it may be the first time
that has ever been played as a prelude for worship.
Of course, he did a fine job. I said we might
consider that our prayer of confession as well as our
prelude!
Also, good news: I got sleep
Bad news: Unlike my fellow classmates, I can't talk myself in to going to class late. That sort of thing would get you kicked out of a course at Rhodes and it baffles me that students are rude enough to come in 25 minutes late on a TEST DAY for the love of god.
Is it just me? Like, I have gone in to class late at Rhodes before, but it was because I was coming from the health center and the prof knew I was going to be late or because I fell and hurt myself... that sort of thing.
