Quick bit of silliness that happened at Chevy's over lunch the other day (it's a Tex-Mex chain store known for good fajitas, fresh tortilla chips, and El Machino).
Know those tortilla making machines in Chevy's, the ones called "El Machino?" (And I know it's probably poor Spanish, but good Spanglish) If you've never seen them, they're typically about 1.5 meters long, 1.5 meters tall, and about 0.5 meter wide. The walls are glass and you can see all the machinery working inside, taking a fresh ball of dough and turning it into a warm tortilla.
The hostess decided to seat the four of us next to "El Machino." Well, 3/4 of us are mechanical engineers/designers. The fourth is the network admin in IT.
So...we're rather geeky. :p
And of all places to put a bunch of gearheads, they seat us next to operating machinery. :D
Which proceeds to malfunction...
And burn tortillas...
And get jammed up...
So as we're waiting for our food, we're talking about various design improvements to make on "El Machino."
I'm still not sure if the Chevy's employees found us amusing or not. :)
